Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Impatient mom

Ok it's been 10 days since my daughter left and still no form letter!!! What the heck! Is this normal and when do I start to worry that it's lost? So disappointing to see an empty mailbox, :(

Thankful, Proud, and just a little bit nervous

I haven't heard my son sound this excited and confident in years!  He took his pledge yesterday. It's increasingly clear to me that this is the right path for him.

Thankful that he's chosen to serve our country, I wonder whether he knows what he's in for.  But then, does any son or daughter know what life's next chapters hold?  He's strong, of that I'm certain, and the Navy will make him stronger. 

I'm uncertain how to respond to well-intentioned friends who say something like…

Jealous for her time

The days are quickly ticking off my calendar for Kate's ship out to Boot Camp.  I am trying not to, but am finding it hard not to be jealous of my remaining time with her.  She works full time, but also has at least two days off in between 24 hour shifts.  I am extremely proud of her work ethic when she offers to pick up a 12 hour for a coworker, but that takes away from time I could spend with her.  Her best friend attended paramedic school with her and they work at the same company, but…

ROTC Scholarship Information

I was wondering if anyone knew of when results would be sent out to students in regards to the ROTC scholarship. My son has applied and gone through the interview process and was told he would get the highest recommendation, this was back in November 2014. Any advice, suggestions are welcomed.

Haven't received a form letter

My son left on 01/27 for BC. I received the box a few days later, but still have no letter with his address. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive this letter?

New To Carl Vinson - Any tips?

Hi, my daughter just joined the ship. What can I expect in regards to hearing from here when they are out to sea? I would love to see some pictures of the ship, particularly inside so I can see what her new world looks like. Thanks!!
