USS Rentz

Hello there---does anyone know if there is a group for the USS Rentz? I can't seem to find one? The Rentz is a small ship and it will be my son's first boat and I was wondering if there was anyone else who has a sailor on it. It would be nice to get to know all the moms/dads or any relatives my son will be sailing with. Thank you!

Finally!!! Son classed up,

Finally my son classed up and started school on Tuesday the 8th after being in Pensacola since February. He's so ready to move on to something else. He was fortunate enough to fly home over Memorial Day weekend. Me and his brothers drove him back to Pensacola and were able to stay for a few days. Unfortunately my husband had to work and couldn't go with us. I really hated to leave, I miss him so much. But at least he's busy with school now and able to take his mind off being homesick. One of… Continue

Day 1

Just got the ten second call -- got here safe, box on its way, I'll call again in three or four weeks. Must admit, I thought more like two weeks - but okay. Guess I'll be writing soon and then waiting for the address.

Got It...Finally!!!

Well I finally got "the box" and then I got the letter yesterday. Yea! Good to hear from my son that all is well in his small comment at the bottom. I think he said so far that he had been up for 40 hours (feeling a little tired...but other than that, good). We are definately going to graduation. I think our sons may be in the same group our call came at 1:36 A. M. Well the box was kind of tough to unpack but it was good at the same time to have another step made. Looking forward to…

Missing My Son

My son, Andrew, has been gone since last Wednesday. Missed the I'm here call, got the box last Friday, got a brief phone call this evening with his address and a request for something he needs me to send him. Have not received the form letter yet. Ship 10, division 254. He has made me very proud with his decision but I am having a hard time looking at the empty room. We plan on moving his 13 year old brother into his room, to make his adjustment a little easier. Really miss all the late night… Continue

Waiting for a letter

Well my son has been gone for one week today and it feels much longer than that. I am waiting for the form letter that I have heard about...would just like to here something from him. We got the 10 second call at an awful ( early or late depending on how you look at it ) hour ...we missed it so we only got a message, but it was good to hear that he was there and safe! I wish Gods peace to all the friends and families out there in our shoes...

FROM BOY TO MANHOOD

Last weekend I saw my son become a man. He was standing with his back straight, with such pride wearing his uniform. I am so proud to see my son soooo happy. The graduation ceremony was beautiful. My son left our home a boy and when we left him, we left a young man. I am not worried anymore, or sad. He has made the best decision in his life. We love you and support all his decisions. Thank god for all your blessings. Watch over all our children, spouses and parents.
