The Adventure Continues!

Am still getting used to no size 12 "chucks" rocketing upstairs. Chris's Dad & I are missing him horribly. We've spoken several times which makes life warm & bright! He's not much for writing, which I understand isn't out of the ordinary. Mail drive us crazy since it's almost 5 to 6 weeks to get things from and to him.

He likes the people he works with and for. He knows they have "each other's backs". I love the phrase "one is none,…

Proud Mama

As you can see by the picture, Life With Mandi is never dull. This was her St. Patrick's Day get-up and she insisted that it was better than Halloween. I don't know if I should just take the Xanax to her poor instructors at Basic or send it with a Get Well Soon card....decisions, decisions...
I am so very proud of her. Her entry to the Navy was delayed with a medical issue but she never gave up and made it through with flying colors. She has had so much fun in Basic and is so excited about…

Any moms from Bakersfield? DEP Mom! any November 7th or 8th moms? thank you for welcoming me !

I am a proud Mommy of a 17 year old boy who leaves in Nov. to boot camp! I am new to all this and had a very hard time conforming to the thought of my boy leaving for a military career , but I have leaned on the Lord and am just looking for friends that have been were I am at, in my community. Even if your not from here and can offer advise or support "it will be very welcome" I wonder if they sell a "navy mom book for dummies" LOL because I would buy it !! LOL

PIR Weekend

Well, the PIR Ceremony was very moving today! We were thrilled to witness the transformation our Andrew has made from boy to man!! What confidence he showed as he performed as a "body snatcher" with his division. We are enjoying our visit with him. Congratulations to all the sailors today. Especially, Division 940!! They were outstanding!!!

I was so thrilled to hear from him after worrying the last week. He said it is so good to be back moving around. He is still on light duty thru the weekend, but they should move him to another division Monday. YEAH!!! He said he wasnt sure he would get back on his feet so quick--but he…

I just want to know how my son is!!!

Its been a week since I got that phone call late at night saying my son was sick and taken out of his division. And yet I havent had a call since then to let me know how he is doing. The frustration of not knowing is driving me crazy. "No news is good news" ---yeah right. I just want to know how is really doing, but what can I do but sit and wait for the promised phone call that he is suppose to get once a week until his able to rejoin BC. So I wait.........

The good news is…

Sitting and waiting

So me and my navy sailor were married July 16th. he left home in january for boot camp and went to A-school. I got to see him graduate and basically got 10 days with him for our wedding then he was off again. We have been married a month and 2 days so far and its hard. We are going through a nasty custody battle with my sons father right now. And I can't even talk to my husband about it because he is on deployment right now. So I get an email or two a week and just basically suck it up and… Continue

Praying for my Son

My son has been real sick since last Thursday. I have only gotten 1 quick phone call to let me know that he was taken out of his division because he is so sick. It was a "rehearsed" military paragraph that was not appealing to any mother, but yet understood of the requirements. I was told that I would get one phone call a week until he is able to rejoin another division to finish his BC. It has been very hard to wonder what is going on with him and not to be able to talk with him while he is…
