Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This is for each of us who are anxiously anticipating that special day on 1/6/12 when all the effort, support and worry is coupled with our recruits hard work and dedication and will come to fruition. Each tear shed and moment spent on sleepless nights will not go away during the next eight weeks, but to know we have a support system where we all share the same goal, will help lift our spirits as we continue through this exciting journey together!!! Let the countdown begin!!!:)

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

When you go to the page scroll down to the picture of the Recruit on the phone on the left hand side of the page. To the right of the pic is "View Gallery" Click that and there will be five or six pictures to scroll through.

RTC FB had said today was a training day, but then corrected that later and said it wasn't. Maybe someone can ask on there again today? I'm thinking since it is a federally observed holiday, that this is not a training day for them. Which could mean more calls for those who haven't called yet? We can only hope!

It sure makes for a much better Christmas :-) We got to Skype with our Sailor today while the rest of our family was her. 21 of us to be exact and she got to talk to all of them. It was very cool and I am so glad we were able to do it but it was still hard, this is the first Christmas ever without her. But I do feel blessed and know that others are going through things that are so much harder. It is really emotional feeling so sad that you are not with them but then feeling a little guilty because at least you still have them and know they are safe and taken care of.
