Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This is for each of us who are anxiously anticipating that special day on 1/6/12 when all the effort, support and worry is coupled with our recruits hard work and dedication and will come to fruition. Each tear shed and moment spent on sleepless nights will not go away during the next eight weeks, but to know we have a support system where we all share the same goal, will help lift our spirits as we continue through this exciting journey together!!! Let the countdown begin!!!:)

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

The MWR had been down for a while or I would've pointed you in that direction right away (it takes two business days before PIR to arrange it. It is a Care Package especially for those that cannot attend but have something for their Sailor). Of course it came back up the day before this PIR! Sorry :-(

I am glad you can send him a gift and that you will be able to go out and see him. Do you know if he ordered the DVD for you? If not, you could call the NEX photo lab and possibly order one. It runs around $30.

For many of us moms the bootcamp journey is ending, but for many others it is just the beginning. Stay strong and count the milestones as everyone else has been saying. They really help! (The box, the form letter, the first real letter, the first phone call, etc. etc.)
