I have been to the off base large NEX before and you are right Dianne - they have tons of stuff and good prices. For generic Navy t-shirts, wait to go there. My son is going to do his Christmas shopping while we are there - Navy everything! They have other stuff too - electronics, clothes, food, toys - you name it.
RTC NEX will be very crowded after PIR...so if you have no need to go in there to order pictures, PIR DVD, etc...you may want to visit the NEX I mentioned below instead. It is close by.
Popeye: To add to what has been said, I would hold off and visit the off base large NEX up there with your sailor. They have everything there you can imagine, I'm told. And your sailor will get a discount. One thing you may want to order is: A "Proud of my Sailor" license tag holder, bumper sticker, etc. But you may even want to wait on that to see if it is there. We never made it to the NEX but heard it is great with lots of "stuff."
Thanks Popey's Mom! :) It's amazing how we've soo gotten used to f/b uh? LOL
Hey ladies! Happy Tuesday, one month til PIR!! So excited:) I talked to Sarge today and scheduled my pickups for both Adopt a Sailor and PIR. He said that he'd be more than happy to combine fares and can carry up to six people in the van. So I thought I'd jump on here and see if anyone wanted to split the ride with me.
I will be arriving at Midway for Adopt a Sailor on December 24 at 8:00 PM and departing December 26 at 8:35 AM.
For PIR I am flying into O'Hare on January 5th at 4:20PM and departing January 8th at 7:40PM but most likely will want to be at the airport much earlier to fly standby.
Let me know if any of these times overlap with your plans and we can save each other a few bucks!
miriamj43,
We need a like button on here so I could give you a thumbs up! It is incredible that we're down to 30 days! I have my moments too but they are less frequent. Gonna write my SR today when I get home & hope we get a letter tomorrow. Wednesday seems to be our day. Have a great day! :)
Popeye'sMom, but if you were referring to their actual division shirts, you can only order them on the site that Diannep posted below though.
Popeye's Mom, CafePress does have a nice selection but I just go online and search for Navy t-shirts, etc. and have found a lot of different sites
.
WHOOOO HOOOOO LADIES -
ONE MONTH DOWN ONE MORE TO GO!!! :D
Though, God knows I STILL have my moments (I miss her sooo dearly words cannot EVEN begin to express) I have to look at the bright side which is... wait for it......
WHOO HOOOO.. LADIES!! ONE MONTH DOWN ONE MORE TO GO!!
God BLESS our future sailors and continue to keep them safe and strong through the process.
Have a great day ladies.
- miriam
Hi all,
I have a question about t shirts...are there tons of places to get them when we go to PIR? I've held off on the cafepress ones(sorry, they're not very impressive) & want to buy them there if possible. My friend who went to Texas for her airman said they were everywhere. Is the Navy the same?
