OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. @babette - yay for letters! my sr hasn't asked for calling cards yet, but maybe that's something he would ask his mom for and not his girlfriend. he did tell his mom that he wants roast beef. :)

my dad just called and said i got more letters today!!!! too bad school is too crazy for me to drive the 45mins to their house this week, so i will just have to wait until thursday to read them. SO excited, but i'm afraid it will make the week sllooooowwww.

I finally got my first letters from my son and I was so happy.  I am now waiting on the phone call.  Its been 3 weeks now.  He said in the letters for me to please send him calling cards so this is why I am thinking I have not got a call yet.  I sent him 2 in the mail today so lets hope soon I can get a call.  He seems to be doing good, said it was rough at first, but getting easier.  I miss him so much, also said his butt and his arms hurt from all the shots he had to get.  Hope everyone is going well....:)

after having all week off last week for fall break, going back to school today is extremely difficult. now i know that i only have 3 more weeks of school, a couple weeks of break and then i get to see my SAILOR!

here's to an awesome week for all of us - lots of letters and maybe even a phone call! we can do it! :)

I'm really bummed out that we're not gettin' phone calls! Good grief, Navy, it's a month tomorrow-give me a break! I really expected they would be allowed on the holiday weekend. OK, rant over. I wrote a letter instead.

Anyone doing any cyber shopping today?  I am!Shopping Spree

I hope everyone had a nice holiday.  I was at a B&B for the holiday weekend with my husband and they had no internet, so that explains my absence this weekend.  I can't believe that my husband and I actually spent an entire weekend together without tv and internet and survived. Phew

My sailor son was able to have his holiday dinner with his godmother, since she had traveled to FL to see her family.  I missed him so much, but I'm so glad that if he couldn't be with us, he was able to spend time with his aunt and her family.

My daughter and her sailor fiance in HI hosted 4 other sailors from his ship, for dinner.  She said it was so nice to cook for them and they appreciated being there so much.  I'm so happy that she and her bf opened up their home to them.

I am glad to be back.

Phoenix:  Sometimes they can call back, but if the line is long to use the phones, they can't.  Hope that when your SR calls, you can answer!

Good morning, all!

When I got the "I'm here" call he said it would be about 3 weeks before he could call.  That means sometime this week I should hopefully hear from him.  I hope I don't miss the call!!  Do they get an opportunity to call back if you miss it?
