For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Information

This is for each of us who are anxiously anticipating that special day on 1/6/12 when all the effort, support and worry is coupled with our recruits hard work and dedication and will come to fruition. Each tear shed and moment spent on sleepless nights will not go away during the next eight weeks, but to know we have a support system where we all share the same goal, will help lift our spirits as we continue through this exciting journey together!!! Let the countdown begin!!!:)

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Becoming really expensive really fast. Thinking of taking the train for Christmas. Ive already purchased my airline tickets for PIR. Are you staying at the Navy Lodge?

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 14, 2011 at 2:01pm: It's like that occassionally NavyMom. On my PIR group there was one division that never formed a Divisional Discussion. Only two members that posted regularly on the main page of the group. They didn't bother to form a discussion as there were only the two of them. We were their brother divison. So they found out what was happening with their recruits (for the most part as far as general training) because of ours as brother divisions train together. Your brother divison is 029.

Theres only been 3 members who have loved ones on same ship 12/030 as my son. Really wondering if the ship/ division have a particular job/training assigned to them like the 800s & 900s.. Hope to find others...

You will get to know one another there...but please stay on this main board too for lots of info. We N4Moms veterans don't have alot of time to scout the discussions for questions....we are on all of the active PIR groups, which is about 6 or 7. Wheeew!
