Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Information

This is for each of us who are anxiously anticipating that special day on 1/6/12 when all the effort, support and worry is coupled with our recruits hard work and dedication and will come to fruition. Each tear shed and moment spent on sleepless nights will not go away during the next eight weeks, but to know we have a support system where we all share the same goal, will help lift our spirits as we continue through this exciting journey together!!! Let the countdown begin!!!:)

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Someone posted that they would not be able to attend PIR and wanted to send their Sailor something. I haven't had a chance to look through all the posts (7 PIR groups worth) so I am posting this to try and find you! (I will still look later!)

It's too late to order the care package...sorry...but I just wanted to see if I could find you if you happened to be on this group!

Comment by diannep on January 5, 2012 at 5:46pm: NavyMom: I assume you are driving, not taking the PIR shuttle. There will be signs and it will be well marked. Someone in the last PIR group said you enter from "Ohio" street if driving (the main drag in front of the base is "Buckley.". She said to stay to the right as people on the left will try to merge and it is not nice. I know that Lala had said not to get in the far right lane as it ends...I would make a trial "drive by" today if you can. But don't worry...there will be lots of people to help in the morning and signs.

Remember....everyone....leave early for PIR! Allow extra time. It starts at 9 but you should be there long before that (I recommend leaving your hotel if on the shuttle between 6:30-7; if driving, be in the line by 6).

Comment by diannep on January 5, 2012 at 8:50am: Yes, Katie. I think you are right...So 4 divisions went through last night. LOTS of calls coming in today. Remember, if you all will be in the air when the call may come in with phones off, please change your voicemail to greet your new sailors. Ask that they call back many times with all of the info they want to tell you. Those will be great messages to receive when you land!
