Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I cannot believe it has really been two years. It is amazing how fast the time passes once bootcamp is over. I can't even begin to tell you how many people I have become friends with and many of them I have been able to meet and have even had some come to my house and stay with me while traveling across the country to see their Sailors. I have made some lifelong friends who share a common bond and I appreciate them all. It is all because of this wonderful site. I wouldn't be where or who I am today if it were not for Navy for Moms :-) I am truly blessed to have found this site <3

If you do send them after that it would be a good idea to copy the letter and take it with you to give to your Sailor in case they didn't get it. They say the mail is forwarded but sometimes it may never catch up to them.

Comment by Chibi's mom ship11,div133 on April 18, 2012 at 7:15pm: I do want to thank you all for the help. since I didn't get the form letter. it was because of you that I found out about password and battlestations. has anyone here not received any phone calls like me? it amazing how cruel my daughter can be not for me to be one to know what's going on. she left it up to my sister who isn't talking to me.

div 131 has gotten confirmation for dates for the rest of training until BS most of us are waiting for letters today to triple check, so will message you for sure....but our source so far has been accurate on every other date
