Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I did tell him no notes or talking...so I really don't know how he's supposed to find out anything! LOL! Anyway, I just hope he knows better and doesn't get in trouble. Hopefully, one of the girls can help you out. Good luck and FTLW is right about you writing her and getting some pertinent info about PIR. Hope it all works out for you!

Anywhooo...here is what I would do...I saw your discussion elsewhwere on the site about the form letter...So, your daughter has written you once and changed some pertinent info for you, wonderful! It sounded like it was a good letter? I would write her and ask if she put you on the access list. If the answer is yes and you can't get info from your sister...let your daughter know that you will need the Vehicle Gate password (this is confidential and you can only get it from your form letter or your SR )...I would also advise you to maybe friend another mom or two who have a daughter in the same division/or brother divison (looks like it is an integrated division) because male/female fraternization is not allowed. I think someone said they would have their son check on her for you...that is so nice and I am sure he can confirm that she is okay and such but won't be able to speak to her really. Oops...TY shinystuff and just saw hendersonc's response...TY to you too!

I agree...keep sending letters like you have...I really hope you hear from your daugher soon.

My daughter sent her things and form letter to my sister, because not being home all day isn't good enough, Her name is stephanie. The form letter was sent to my sister also. I don't speak to my sister about my kids, because she has always told me I raise them wrong.yesterday was my birthday and no call, card or letter. with no form letter I don't even know if I am one the list. not one phone call. her name is stephanie . yes I would like that very much if you could

We are taking a two hour cruise to see all the ships at Norfolk and take a bunch of pictures and then go to the NEX and do some shopping for Navy Mom Goodies. Hopefully tomorrow it will be warm enough to go to the beach. We have been here 4 days and the only sand we have seen was on a constructions site while walking in Colonial Williamsburg lol.
