To read about "P" days...go to this link on NavyDEP.com. It is also up in the DF in the "What ARE they doing..." Discussion.

What happens at bootcamp - Day-per-Day? (Up to week #6)

Comment by dttbram ship3/division139 on March 21, 2012 at 9:00pm

P-days are "Processing days" its all paperwork.  He left arrived at Great Lakes March 8 (late) he said they are still in Pdays because they were waiting for others from his group to arrive at Great Lakes? He said PT days should start today or tomorrow.  He said they just got their uniforms today, that up until now they'e all just been in the sweats and tshirts they gave them.  Hopefully they will all be opening some mail tonight:)

Any veteran Moms correct me on that last post...for some reason it's not reading right or there is something that feels like it is missing! LOL

IslandMom - If your son is staying at TSC on Great Lakes Main Base (it is not to far from RTC) he will have a short while after PIR to be with you on RTC. Then he will have to go back to his Ship and get his things and move over to TSC. This could take 3-5 hours. When he is done you will have to pick him up over there to spend the rest of Liberty with him that day. Make sure he has a working phone card still as he will not be permitted his cell phone yet.

PIR ends at 10:30. ..so in essence you should have time to return and get your luggage and check out.

Call the Navy Lodge and ask them about this. Maybe they "give grace" in this situation ;-) Also, maybe they can hold it for you? I don't know if they will, but it might be worth a try (if you are comfortable with that.)

Just out of curiousity...are you changing hotels or leaving? TSC Great Lakes "A" schoolers have Liberty PIR day (after they transfer over to TSC) , Saturday and Sunday.

Does anyone know the check-out time for Navy lodge?  We only planned to stay there Thursday night. My son will be staying at Great Lakes for A school, which will probably mean it will be late afternoon before we leave base. The form letter states that no luggage is permitted on base, so I can't pack up that morning.  Any suggestions?

I received a surprise phone call today from my SR:) he sounded great! said today is last day of P-days.  Says food is good "like cafeteria food" He and another guy are the "mail" people.  He said today is the first day they get to go collect the mail, so if you've mailed to your SR they should be getting it today.  He said Sunday they can mail out any letters theyve written:)

Hi Everyone, my son PIRd a year ago and is now in EOD.  Heard there might be some EOD Moms/wives/gfs who might have questions.  Please feel free to ask away!  I will also post this on the 811 discussion above... :-)

I just watched What Happens at Boot Camp - Day-per-Day account (Up to week #6) from a SAILOR     WOW! If you haven't seen it watch it. I often wonder "I wonder what she is doing today? or What's it like for her" The video gives a week by week from packing up there BOX to fighting fires aboard ship. Feeing very excited about her adventure.

Hello Everyone!

I am going to invite you to start your Divisional Discussions in the Discussion Forum area above.

How to add a Discussion - Go to the bottom left corner of the DF area (It's actually just above the comment box here.) and click "Add a Discussion".

Fill in the Title and any description you like.

For DIV discussion Titles a suggestion would be:

SHIP ##/ DIV ###

Click “Add Discussion” at the bottom right.

Simple as that! Then the other members from your div can reply and you can connect up even closer there.

Please only one Discussion per division.

Remember that you are ALL part of this TG though and to stay on the main pages to talk here too! Plus, we veteran moms mostly stay on the main pages of the groups. There are 7-8 PIR groups running at one time and so we do not get to the DF's as much. We do check them as often as we can...OPSEC rules apply there also.
