For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I checked out the route from the Navy Lodge to the hotel and saw that the lane ends. I drove by the base so many times hoping for a glimpse of my Sailor that I was afraid they would come out and ask me what I was doing lol.

You know Southwest should run a special for April Fools day and say "you would be a fool not to cash in on this deal" lol..... Maybe I should go into advertising hahah

Vivian - We went ahead and booked the hotel so we'd ensure getting what we wanted. We're able to cancel up until 6:00 pm on day of check-in so we won't be out anything if we have to adjust the date. How are you doing?

Julie - LOVED the snow picture! It so made me wish we had actually had a winter her in Missouri! Beautiful!

Comment by diannep on March 19, 2012 at 8:52am: Good morning all! I agree that if booking on Southwest, I would go ahead and book flights now. No problem if you change. Well, except you would pay a difference in fare if there is one...I had to change mine (wasn't Southwest though) when my son was up there...had a change fee, but the fare actually was cheaper with new tickets so change fee was like it was half.

Lala is right, I made my reservations because I knew that I could cancel the hotel without penalty and Southwest won't charge you a change fee just the difference in the fare if there is one.

Your daughter is in the same division as my son Ship 2 Division 925!

Lala I would love to hear more about the ribbons we can order! I am a scrapbooker too!
