I ditto what FTLW said about SARGE. I have never met him, but have known about him forever on here. Never have heard a bad word said against him--only praises...he is a lifesaver for all. I suggest that all keep his number in your phone, even if you don't plan to use his transportation services at this point, because you never know...he is a great source of info too...so questions to him are welcome!

TY for posting the link to a meet and greet on Sarge. Ther e is a specific one for this group...in fact there are three M & G's. I will post the links tomorrow.
We first knew Sarge for the wondeful taxi service he provides and his big heart in helping families out. He goes above and beyond the call of duty!
He started hosting a M & G back in November and has continued to do so. Ramamda does one and Flanagans has resumed doing one.
Juliebelle- this is the link to the info my hubby found about the meet and greet and there is a link to a .pdf that explains even more. Hope this link works!

Most of us haven't been to the one Sarge does. We didn't know about him when we were there and he has only been doing them for a short time. Maybe one of the newer moms here will have some info on it. I went to the one at the Ramada and we all had a great time. We all passed around a mic and told our name, our N4M screen name and told a little about our Sailor. It was great times for sure.
Just got the code!!! Thanks again juliebelle!!!
Has anyone thought about which Meet and Greet to attend? My husband found some information on the Dad's site about the Sarge's Meet and Greet. It sounds like a good option with lots of information on PIR provided at the M&G.
Veteran Moms, your input is greatly appreciated on this!!!
I bet that is everyone Lisa, even now with my daughter at her first base I still get this happy/panic feeling when I see her number on the caller ID. I guess I am a little bit of a worrier and I am getting better at not having the panic feeling. Well unless she calls at an unusual time. I am getting used to her calling every afternoon just before she goes into work. I am really gonna miss it when she gets deployed.
juliebelle- please send me th southwest code! I was not going to book until Tuesday, but for 25% we will do it now. Thank you!!!!
After a lot of research, we booked at the Homewood Suites that is flyer that comes with the form letter. Using the Corporate Accoount Code on the flyer we were able to get two suites with seperate bedrooms, living area and kitchenette. For a one bedroom king it was $74 a night and for a 2 bedroom with two kings and two baths, it is $149 a night. It is a little farther from RTC than some. But I figure it would give us plenty of room/privacy to just chill and visit if that is what SR wants to do and maybe have a home cooked meal. And it comes with free breakfast.
We will also being staying through Monday, since SR's A school is at Great Lakes.
The Kitchenette at the Navy Lodge has 2 queen beds as well.
Remember with most of the hotels in that area you can book early and they don't charge your debit or credit card until you check in. You can also change or cancel your reservations for most of them up until the day you arrive with no fee. So book early to get the place you want.
