Good morning Lifesavers!!!!

The emotions that came along with that box were tough!

Had my own little received the box pity party last night! LOL -

Praying like crazy that his bible is not in there - gf and I will find out on Friday. For now husband placed the box in Brett's room - just couldn't bear to even look at it without the waterworks turning on.

Julie - did you pick your box up? Awe - bummer - never mind, just got an email on your latest post. Bet you get it today. Can you send me the survey? I would like to send it to him and get some detailed information - you know most males - only the bare minimum when it comes to giving out information. :)

Emilysmom-I am super happy for you that you received a letter from your girl. That made me laugh about her liking the food - too cute! I can't wait to hear from him to see who he knows, is close with etc. I told him all about all of my lifesaving Moms in one of the letters sent yesterday.

diannep - good morning to you too!

1proudMom - I am writing a letter today about the pictures/DVd - thanks for the reminder. Hope you get a letter from your precious girl soon!

Hope everyone has a great day!

This website makes getting through the day a little, actually ALOT, easier!

Hugs to all!

Once again, THANKS FTLW!  I had been pouring over all that info the other day but couldn't remember where I had read it.  Sometimes all the info runs together!

Emilysmom - SO SO happy for you that you not only got the box but a letter!  Sounds like you got the form letter and a personal letter?  How wonderful!  I know it was worth the wait!  If I've understood everything I've read so far (HA!), your daughter must be in the division that does the drill (not sure that's the correct term though) at graduation.  That's wonderful!

I made a note on the back of the letter I'm mailing off today to let my daughter know that her brother does not have to be listed.  I'm hoping they'll inform her of that and if not, once she reads my letter that they'll let her add her boyfriend and remove her brother.  I also told her to be sure and order pictures and a video!

Folks,

It is good to go to the RTC Website and read the material over there. The link for it is up under the RTC symbol under the weather widget.

1ProudMom - I am going to post excerpts from the FAQ's from the RTC Website for you about extra guests and children 12 and under:

Q.
How many guests per recruit are allowed to attend Pass-In-Review?
A.

Recruits are permitted to place up to four names on the access list.  Please coordinate with your Recruit as only Recruits may place names on the list.  RTC can neither change these names nor release the names of those on the list.  Children age 12 and younger do not need to be listed on the access list and will not count toward the maximum number of guests.  Active Duty and Retired military personnel will not count toward the maximum number of guests and do not need to be listed on the access list, but must present a valid Active Duty/Retired military ID card.  The four guests on the access list will be admitted into the ceremonial drill hall first. Additional guests not on the access list will have to wait inside the Visitor Center until after the start of the ceremony at which time they will be allowed into the ceremonial hall if additional seating is available as space permits. No additional seating can be guaranteed.  All guests 18 years and older, must present valid government issued photo identification (driver’s license, state ID card, passport, military ID card). Guests 17 years or younger who do not possess one the items listed above must present one of the following: school ID card, driver’s permit, copy of their birth certificate or social security card.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL FOR ADDITIONAL SEATS.

Q.
When will I receive tickets/passes to graduation?
A.

There are no actual tickets or passes. Recruits list the names of up to four guests that will be included on the access list. Recruits cannot obtain additional “tickets” from other recruits.

Q.
I am not sure I am on the access list. Can you find out and make changes if I am not?
A.

It is the recruit’s decision whom to place on the access list. Please communicate with your recruit well before the final week of training to be sure the right names are on the list. The Public Affairs Office does not have a copy of the access list as they names on the list are not divulged to the public. No additions, deletions or changes will be made to the access list the week of graduation.

So, children 12 and under and activeduty/retired military may enter with the four on the access list. Any other extra guests will wait in the VC.

Funny you should ask about military and the access list.

RTC Website just added a new page for protocol for military personnel. I did a BLOG on it to try and spread the word.

Folks have asked me the question,"Does my______ who is a veteran but not retired or active duty need to be on the access list?" and I just plain did not know and the "rules" state only about active and retired military so that was all I could point them too. BUT, it turns out that RTC says this about non-retired veterans:

(From RTC Website)

Please note: Non-retired military veterans and/or dependents must be included  on the access list.

Here is the link to the Blog on here. It has a link to the RTC page.

Juliebelle, Thanks for creating this site!! My daughter mentioned in her letter that she still had not met the young man from Wrightwood that was going to be a Nuke. LOL I picture her going up to every boy asking them "Are you from Wrightwood?"

Comment by vivianlee on March 15, 2012 at 2:08am

YAY! Got our box yesterday, and our first letter from her today. She says she loves the food. How funny is that. Her pending graduation date is May 4th and she is on Ship 02 Div 925 RTC.  She is begging for letters. Opening the box was really strange I just took a glance and put it in her room. Just couldn't go through it yet.

I second that juliebelle28 (Ship 9 DIV 138)!  Thanks FLTW for all the information!  This site and the information are keeping me going.  I can't image how I would be with out it.
