Carrie, you can take them in pretty much any small bag. He can transfer them over to his black backpack at the airport :-)

I think it is all good aj :-) no harm done. I honestly had to go back and read all the posts because I couldn't remember any posts that seemed like they would cause any drama.

For everyone, we all have to remember that everyone is at a high emotional state when their recruit is at bootcamp. And this site, other sites, chat rooms, text messaging etc is a very good way of communicating with others and getting all the information we need to get us through the hard times in our lives. At the same time written text does not offer the same "expression" that we can see and hear when talking to someone in person or even on the phone. Therefore sometimes things can be taken completely different than they were meant. I even saw a news story that warned parents that computers and cell phones are creating a problem with our children's ability to read and understand  emotion in people. It is a little scary how much this world will change because of the way we communicate today. I honestly don't think anything bad was meant by any of the comments and I hope we can all get back to supporting each other :-)

Lala - I've got my gate pass. Thanks for the reminder. :)

Does anyone know what I can pack my SR's stuff in for A school? He asked me if I could bring his cell phone, a pair of pants/shirt, etc.

Just got home from work - wow. Didn't realize that I would cause any drama with my perspective.

EOD mom(and to any others) I apologize.

I hope everyone is printing their gate passes. You can print as many as you need and print a few extra and put in different places just in case you need it or misplace one.

EOD mom - I also got a letter from my son. He said the gas chamber was painful. He earned a ribbon in firearms. He told me he ordered pictures. They are expensive but worth it. I too was going to reimburse him but I've been paying his bills LOL! I'm staying at the Quality Inn in Waukegan.

If you were maybe thinking about a doorknob...they do have those pre-cut foam ones at craft stores...or i bet there is SOMETHIG on the internet that has a site to print one out. I can in Word too unsder the projects. :-) Just in case you felt funny sticking signs on the doors.

Comment by Wyobraskamom on April 26, 2012 at 3:58pm

Sounds like a great idea RyGyMom!

OK! So I'm at work and not working (Shhhh! Don't tell my boss!) but I came up with a sign idea for the hotel doors.

Divide a word document into 2 columns, top margin 3.5 inches to cut a hole for the door knob. then centered on the page with my N4M picture on the bottom:

PIR

Ship 09

Div. 138

RyGyMom

No worry about tape, just hang it on the door. What do you think?
