Lala--her lucky number must be.........23! Lol.
CB--My SRs recruiter met with all of us about 3 months before BC and gave us a N4M brochure and said it was a great place for info. I guess not all of them do that but it certainly would be a good idea.
HELP! Meagan from TG-23 (http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir04202012) has some VIDEOS of PIR to post, but doesn't know how. Neither do I. (Our SRs PERFORMED at her PIR, so they are in the videos!!!!!) HELP! Calling all hands!
I just visited TG-23's group (PIR 04/20/2012) and posted a Discussion.
I will be checking there OFTEN these next 2 weeks!

LOL! Somehow I always seem to do CRAZY stuff!!! I will be doing the same thing next week on TG-24's group. Just hoping to see pics of our Performance Division!
Lala, That's great news. I sure hope they can use it between schools. That would be super!
CB- my daughter used it between A and C school so unless that has changed they can. Not all Sailors have C-school and I think if they take leave after A-school they don't take leave after C-school but that may depend on how long C-school is. Both A and C school for my daughter were pretty short. She had PIR July 23, got engaged August 23, got married Sept 23, graduated A-school Oct 23, finished C school Dec 23 and moved out of barracks and into an apartment on Jan 23. Now how weird is that? lol
Brilliant idea! What would be the harm in that? I bet it would cut down on a lot of the anxious phone calls, etc to the recruiters as well. It would also show that the Navy again supports the family.
I happened to find it on the Navy website but as I said before, I research stuff.
aj, I wish that the RTC would send it in the FORM LETTER we all got early on. That would be the absolute best way to get the word out. I am going to look into that for future Training Groups.
I also wish the Recruiting offices would push it more as well as tell the recruits that are just signing up about NavyDep.com
Can it be figured out how the others found? Maybe through our SRs?
I was wondering if that worked out with getting the word out through the RDCs......well, you tried very hard. Thank you for that. Plus it doesn't mean that they cannot join later for the SR's A school, etc. Wonder if there is a way to do that still? Do you know if this is something that Sarge can put out there for the meet n greet?
On April 1st we only had 55 members. We have now grown to 69 members. There are 8 Divisions of 80+ each. That means that approximately 571+++ SRs do not have a family member on NavyforMoms.
Knowing how wonderful N4M has been for each of us, it's a terrible shame the other 571+ SRs families are not getting all of the help, info and support that we are all having.
I sent slips of paper to the RDCs asking them to pass them out to the recruits so they could send it home in a letter to share N4M with their family. But they were unable to pass them out.
Please in your NEXT LETTERS...help other SR's family members FIND us and N4M by asking your SR to share N4M with their shipmates.
SRs whose families probably don't even know this site exists. We should ask our recruits to tell the other SRs so they can tell their families.
The BEST way I can think of is to send this web-address to ALL of our SRs, and have them share it with as many recruits as possible:
http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir05042012
I'm including this info in the rest of my letters to my son, to remind him to share the site with his shipmates.
Can you imagine how tough this would have been on all of us if we did not have N4M and EACH OTHER? Love you all!
Hi Marie Ship 9 Div138. I haven't heard about how long the liberty will be yet after PIR. From what I have read on N4Ms, in the past it is generally just the day of PIR and then they fly to their A School location early on Saturday morning. My son will be going to Pensacola as well. I have asked him if he knows yet when he leaves but he hasn't answered. Hopefully he will have that info soon. I will pass on anything I hear :)
