While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. It's amazong-I was gone just a couple of hours and suddenly y'all have add a bunch more pages to this forum - y'all are definitely "communicators"

OMG! I'll be camping on the Countdown Clock to watch it roll to 14 days! I sure hope they ALL get to relax and have calls and fun on Saturday. Keep the awesome tidbits coming!

Please LaLa or diannep would you pm the date for BS? did not get that piece of info either in today's letter.

Here goes:
Dated April 10, 14 and 15

She said Hell Week wasn't bad, just very busy. Their Division had a zone inspection while they were doing SAMT (small arms something??), when they came back it was like a tornado had come through!

She said they finally finished their divisional flag (she is so proud of herself!) and that she has ordered a hoodie and t-shirt with it on them. (I want one too!!)

Live fire was "a blast" (that's my girl!) 2 of them earned "Expert"!

They flagged their drill inspection and Test 2 (not sure what that is) so they earned a pennant that means they can march without the RDC's and can actually sing Cadence! (They are all proud of themselves!)

They got their dress whites, dress blues and "peanut butters"!

Practicing for PIR performance THIS FRIDAY!! (and the next 2)

They made a bet with Chief that if they received less than 3 UNSATs on all of their inspections during hell week, they would get to go to "Recruit Heaven"!! (NEX) They had "0" UNSATs!! That is where she went crazy talking about FB and Subway! AND PHONES! (I have my fingers and toes crossed that they actually get to make calls!) She thinks it will be Saturday!!!

Comment by pjay(ship04 div811) on April 19, 2012 at 8:32pm: My SR has had a cold for 3 weeks. Says he thinks he has lost about 10 lbs. That's kind of scary since he had no body fat to begin with! He said lots of them are sick. Maybe it will be better when they get to A school.
