Ladies, I will be off the site until Sunday or Monday. I have sent the dates I have received for BattleStations to Lala. So post to her if you need one. She can private message it to you. We only have dates for 139/140 and 811 so far. Have a wonderful weekend!
CB that is so funny, I thought about that every Thursday when my daughter was there. My mail doesn't come until after 4 and that made for a very long wait lol. But, like you, I was afraid I would mess something up and didn't want to "rock the boat" lol.
CB - thanks for the info re: AROC. I had seen that but then she threw in her letter yesterday that she is the ship staff AROC not the division AROC so she "won't be calling cadence at PIR or anything". I didn't realize there were two different ones. I guess she'll have some 'splainin' to do PIR weekend! :o)
1ProudMom-Too funny! My son told me the same thing a letter a while back. You are right about the meaning - I am sure they are all J.A.F.O. at some point in this whole thing. ha ha ha Actually, they are probably considered J.A.F.O. until they are an actual sailor! Ha!
1PM,
A-ROC - Assignment Recruit Petty Officer - This Recruit is the second in command when the RDC's are not present.
CB - that's the funny thing! She just threw that in in the middle of the letter and I can't tie it to any of the other info. I'll be dying to find out more from her after PIR!
Also, any idea what the difference in duties between division AROC and ship staff AROC?
It means exactly what you said, LOL! So maybe she's on watch? "Observing" or in class" Sounds like she's watching or observing something. Would need to know what else she said to go with it to maybe figure it out. LOL!
Anyone have any idea what JAFO means? The only thing I'm finding online is Just Another F***ing Observer. My daughter wrote in her letter yesterday, "I'm in JAFO." I have no clue what that means! Any ideas?
We've got 12 new members in the last 10 days or so! YAY! WELCOME!
Want to share an idea with members. If you go to "settings" in the top right corner, you can EDIT your user name. Most of us put our SR's SHIP and DIVISION after our user name. It helps us know who our N4M "shipmates" are. :)
Like this:
(Ship2Div925) or (02/925) or (Ship 2, Div 925)
However it fits. But we love seeing at a glance when a member is sharing something that has to do with our very own Division! This really helps! :)
Great Morning to all! Soooo excited for the mail today, can't wait! Almost called the post office to ask them to hold it, so I could go pick it up, and get it earlier! LOL! But decided 11ish in the morning will have to do, just in case "holding" it causes some sort of mess up! LOL! (Im EXPECTING my survey to come back to me today! Fingers Crossed!
The Study aids I ordered for HM School arrived yesterday from Amazon.com. Whew! that was fast! Wow! Tough stuff to try to learn in such a short time! Glad he will have these to study while waiting to class up. I'm told they don't get the class materials until a day before classes start, so this will give him something to do while waiting for the class to fill. (Which could take several weeks I read, from 2 to 19 weeks) (Averaging about 8 weeks so far this year) Well I have a plan to get some pics I hope! I'm gonna go visiting right now, and try to make some arrangements for pics! Hope I get lucky! :)
