Yep, you are absolutely right, CrazyBlonde.  They DO read the posts...we have confirmation of this in other groups.  They may have some "fun" with the SRs over this.  But we do advise you all to be careful what you post here.  In one earlier PIR group, a lady had posted that her hubby disliked his RDCs and she posted one's name that he particularly disliked.  Yep, put the RDC's name right there on this site.  UGH! Then another lady commented that when she saw that RDC at PIR, she may want to "kick him in the ____".  OH MY!  Needless to say, thank goodness for a vigilant group creator who immediately deleted those posts.  I have been on the site for over 2 yrs and that is the only time I have seen something that bad happen because most ladies on here are very respectful and appreciate what the RDCs are doing...we ARE very grateful for the jobs the RDCs are doing...because it couldn't be an easy one with so many different age groups, personalities, life experiences, expectations, abilities, etc. to work with.  But they do a great job, which you will observe when watching the sailors at PIR!

Oh Vivian my heart just breaks for you :(  Hang in there honey!  My son sounds just like your daughter.  He is very happy, not very detail oriented and somehow always pulls things out at the last minute.  I worry too that this time his care free attitude will catch up with him.  I just keep remembering what they say that no news is good news! :)  And I like you, love all the details others are sharing since my son doesn't share alot of his own.  We all have down days so don't feel bad.  It helps me to look back some of our family photos from trips and remember the good times.  It always brings a smile to my face!  My husband said to tell you that at this point they are starting to really come together and they are all helping eachother.  So I am sure she has a great support system there.  I'll be prayinig for you, for all of us missing our SRs, and of course our SRs.  Take care and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Good morning ladies, rough day yesterday and rough night. Her being gone is really getting to me. I can't pin point this feeling, It's the not knowing that is getting to me. Her letters although very upbeat have very little information in them. Almost reminding me of high school days when things seemed ok at school and then BAM! out of know a report was due. She is really easy going, very upbeat, doesn't let things bother her, has a servants heart but........... tends to procrastinate. So I worry, would if she is not passing her tests, would if she's the one not passing her inspections, would if, would if. Went to bed worrying last night and I tossed and turned. Woke up before 5am which is very unlike me with such an uneasy feeling. Just want a phone call saying "I did it!, I passed it!, I'm a sailor!" Her daddy wrote her a letter and said "we could use a few details princess _ _ _ _" I read all of your posts for tid-bits of information and pass it on to my husband as if it were us who received the letter of phone call. (by the way he is very calm about all of this). Maybe it's because the house is empty now, I don't know. I just wonder how are you all doing it? I sorry if I sound like a downer :( maybe a letter will arrive today :)

That is so true julie, IT is a huge part of bootcamp. I wish we could send goodies for everyone like the Marine families can. I had no idea they allowed that lol. My daughter wanted sugar so bad that she begged everyone to send her an airhead in an envelope with her letter but we all refused. We were not taking any chances lol.

Yeah, that happens, probably a mom who never heard of navy for Moms and isn't here to receive our advice against sending care packages, especially food lol. But they will get IT, if not for one thing, then another. It helps them get into shape so they can pass all the physical tests :-) They are getting pumped lol

You hafta laugh if you stop and think about this: I bet the RDCs read our group's posts! LOL! I would if I were an RDC! LOL!

Dear RDC's! We LOVE YA! Thanks for training our SRs to be the Navy's Finest Sailors! Bravo Zulu and a big HOOYAH!

Julie - I'm SO happy for you!  How wonderful that you'll get some time with your son!! Woohoo!!  And yes, I know for Ship 9/Div 138 today was Week 4 Day 5.

I was reading last night on http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433 - look at Week 6 Day 1 regarding the gas chamber.  He warns NOT to rub your eyes so I wrote my daughter last night and made sure to include that tip!  Thought I'd pass it on.  :o)

lol, I have seen those posts so many times..... "I know we are not supposed to ask for pictures but I really miss my son and it would just be amazing if you could find it in your heart to take a picture of his division and post it here" lol Desperate times for desperate measures lol and sadly it never works.
