For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by NavySoccerMom on April 13, 2012 at 10:31am: Just a veteran's thought to the mail question....My Sailor told me that the last day they were given mail was on Tuesday, which was before BattleStations, which is before the I'm a Sailor call. Mail takes a good 3-4 business days to get to them, so RTC recommends you not send mail after the Friday before PIR. Of course these are just recommendations. You can always send mail to ensure they get something till the last available day, but I wouldn't send anything important.

Also, the SR with the spider bite is my Sailor's best friend from high school, and he is doing much better and back with his division the last I heard, he should be graduating with his division. Thank everyone for all the prayers.

Please forgive me for not being on much lately. I am afraid I just have to be away for a while as I have pressing things here at home. I do read every day and try to answer where I can.

I am so thankful to be able to be a part of a team of ladies where I know we support each other while trying to support all of you who are going through this. I am thankful for the wonderful group creators who step up and take care of their PIR groups...and all of you moms/wives/Fiancés/GF/BF/Aunts/Uncles/Dads/Grandparents/Siblings and Friends who support each other on here. This site is dear to my heart.

Right now I will continue to read and post where I can, focus on helping to start the new PIR groups, answer any questions specifically directed at me and be available for any and all private messages. Those will be my priorities… I am hoping to be back in full swing soon.

I got tagged Crazy Blonde back in my teens, and guess I just had to keep myself true to the name. Seems I'm always hearing "You're Crazy! I tend to live right on the very edge sometimes, LOL! Actually I am always asking myself why I'm still alive, I've had so many close calls! I'm trying to tame things down. (A little) :)
