CB - YAY!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CB - I am SO happy for you!! What wonderful information! He did a good job! And HE LOVES YOU!! :o)
I know your Momma's heart is rejoicing and so proud of him!
Do NOT feel guilty! You gave that precious boy life and helped make him into the young man he is today! You deserve a little lovin' AND a letter or 10! :o)
((HUGS))
OMG! OMG! OMG! ME, MOM, MYSELF, YOURS TRULY, I Finally got a letter! It's my first one!!!
Got a 4.8 out of 5.0 on his first test with absolutely no time to study because of his job.
On April 3rd his ship got a Baby Division fresh out of P-Days moved into their compartment, and it threatens to destroy their ZERO hit record, that they, and (maybe) only 1 other Division has.
They have developed a SOLID routine the past 2 weeks and the babies are sure to mess it up. As the MAA he sure hopes they listen to him.
He's promoted to E-2, and is hoping E-3 by graduation.
April 5th is Training Day 3-5
Hell week is next week (Wrote on April 5th) Says starts April 9th, so THIS week is Hell Week.
He PROMISES to call ME, MOM, on his next call! :) (I want that signed and notorized) (Maybe even in blood! I wonder if his bunk-mate has a needle?) LOL!
My letters are taking up too much space, but KEEP THEM COMING.LOT's PLEASE and PHOTOS!!!
They "KILLED it at MARLINSPIKE!!!" with a 9.5 out of 10, with only 4 safety hits. They were "the FIRST ones to FINISH too!"
He's exhausted...and HE LOVES ME! (It's hell when they have a girlfriend, you feel guilty for taking his writing time, knowing he wants to write her.) ;)
@ Adrienne: Good point, I guess "layers" is a relative term.
Light jacket/sweater should be fine unless we get a blast of cold air down Lake Michigan. I've seen it snow in June here (not that it will!)
Looking forward to May 4!
juliebelle- Thanks for the shout out on the contacts/eye solution issue. I am hoping he calls the gf and she can ask him if he wants them or not.
diannep-thanks for responding-you veterans are amazing help for us !
Vivain-thanks for sharing! That Lil Wayne comment was a much needed laugh! I can just picture that poor girl doing that. How do these SR's see stuff like that without cracking up. That would be tough for me!
Hope everyone has a great day!
AJ2: I would say you can wear sandals, just bring an extra pair of shoes just in case, and you might not even need layers(my boyfriend lives in florida and when he came up north during the summer it was hotter than florida), But these seasons lately have been so backwards. So if you want layers i would say a light cardigan or very light jacket (no need for a winter jacket or hat) and heavier jacket as a spare at the hotel, just don't want to be to hot.
aj2daway - You are right for planning to dress in layers. Great Lakes is right on Lake Michigan and typically it is cooler near the lake this time of year. We will be inside, so sandles should be ok. Keep an eye open for weather reports as we get closer.
I'm planning on sandles myself for the day. But I may be a little older than you and I have my personal heat waves..if you know what I mean... :)
This year we have had a very mild winter and warmer than normal temperatures. I'm hoping this continues through the spring.
Looking forward to May 4!
I am from westeren New York(Buffalo area) and the weather here during begining of may is high 70's maybe low 80's(very low 80's) and right now chicago is warmer than NY. Soo it might be a little warmer over there, but don't aim for anything anyhigher than 85 and lower than 70. Is my best guess.
RyGy- can you tell me more about the weather there this time of year..or more exactly around PIR? I had planned for certain types of outfits for daughter based on the weather here in Georgia and then had to switch my thinking.
Can you help me out? I know that layers is a good idea but is it still too cool for sandals?
When do we actually know they are graduating on time? Should she be able to tell me if she calls today? I can't imagine what all the other mothers do that are not on this forum. I guess they just wait, and wait and wait and do it alone.
