juliebelle-whew! Glad it wasn't my SR he was talking about. ha ha ha I didn't figure it was, my SR is super quiet and a bit shy until he gets to know someone. I am glad to hear that the 1st test is to assess. Although he is so dang hard on himself, he will kick his own butt if he didn't pass. :)

prayin'navymom - The most important PFA is the last one they take in Week 6. Everyone has to pass this one even if they have passed one of the earlier ones. The first two are to see where the recruits are at PT wise. Though they also count for points towards earining their Flag and Pennat for Athletics...so recruits still try their best to do as well as they can in all PFA's.

juliebelle28 - Sent you a PM.

My son's girlfriend got a letter today! She shared it with me....On the 21st he did his Physical Assessment Test, He did 101 Situps, and 80 pushups in 2 minutes, and the 10 min run. (He's so fit!) He won't know how the Written half of the Assessment Test turned out for another 2 weeks.

He is supposed to get to call home on Friday, March 30th at 1700 hrs, 5:00 Great Lakes time.

He said they get to have mail delivery every day now so "write alot!"

He had dental on the 22nd (Root Canal and Crown), did not get day off for recovery though because he had to cover for the RPOC that got 2 wisdom teeth pulled. Said he's glad they didn't pull his wisdoms.

He said that he's really formed alot of friendships and feels close with alot of SRs, which is surprising being the MAA, but he's thankful for that.

His Chief is a female, He has alot of respect for her, she does an awesome job, and he really likes all of the RDCs!

Overall his letter was really upbeat and he sounds tired but very happy! Extremely excited about the adventures ahead of him, and the stability he will have from being in the Navy, and the opportunities ahead. Very upbeat letter!

I posted some stuff from a female SR on the Ship 2 Division 925 thread above also. She seems to have a different opinion.

Juliebelle- That is aweosme! I am glad you heard form him!

Eeeek! I hope my SR isn't his rack mate..lol....

Poor guy about the boots/feet. That sounds very painful.

Only 50% pased the PFA??? I never even thought of the, not passing thing, oh boy, I sure hope my SR passed his PFA. What happens if they fail, do they have to keep retaking it until they pass?

I am sure he won't sound so low by the time you get the next letter.

Shoot - they are probably all so tired and all running on one nerve - their last one. ha ha ha

How do you order the ribbons?

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on March 29, 2012 at 5:55am

Good Morning everyone. I hope you all get letters today that haven't received them this week already. I know if sure does help to get a letter :-)

Yes, getting their wisdom teeth pulled at bootcamp is very common. Much better to have it done there than when they are out in the fleet. Besides it is one of the rare times they get to hear music while they are at bootcamp :-) They really miss their music.

supernavymommy--It would make it even more exciting if your son was one of them.
