supernavymommy---he was talking about recruits. He named them specifically.
pjay - my son is ship 4 div 811 and has a EOD contract. When he talked about the all around good guys that are the EOD, did he mean recruits or the instructors? how cool would that be if they are the recruits and he was talking about my son. My son is 6'3" and took this contract to help out the SEALs without doing SEAL training, if that makes since. So glad your son is doing so well.
Thanks so much for the great news!
Thanks juliebelle! My son also had all of his wisdom teeth taken out about 6 months before he left per his recruiters advice. He is glad he did it then.
Wyobraskamom prayers going up for your SRs quick recovery. He is probably feeling much better already.
Thanks Juliebelle and Vivian. My husband and I were just looking through the timeline this morning before work and talking about the wisdom teeth section. Little did we know that it would apply to our son by tonight :) Thanks Lala for the prayers!
Hi everyone--I received my first letter today! It was very emotional for me. It began with "Dear Mama, first thing I want to say is I miss you and I love you very much". So I cried through the entire 4 pages! He said "everything here is pretty much hurry up, shut up and wait for a really long time". Also, he has met some all around good guys that are EOD and Rescue Swimmers. I wonder if one of them may be your SR, EOD Mom? Said he did very well on his PST and he is going to keep his head up. Anyway, maybe those that haven't received letters yet will get them sometimes this week.
Wyobraskamom(Ship2Div925) - spoke with a mom who's daughter is on the same ship that had her wisdom teeth out too. Maybe this is something they do now so they don't have to mess with it when they are in school or over seas.
Thanks so much :-)
My husband and I were just married last summer after a more than 4 yr engagement. His daughter and my son both live with us and are both Seniors in High school. My son is planning to join the navy and his daughter will be attending UNC-Wilmington this fall. I know we will miss them probably more than we expect to but we are also looking forward to some time alone. We already have a winter trip planned for January. It will kind of a honeymoon for us since we turned our two week honeymoon last June into a family vacation lol.
Wyobraskamom- I will keep him in my prayers as well.
Thanks for the prayers 1ProudMom! I know they will help. He said as of 2/23 that he hadn't received any letters so hopefully he has gotten some this week. Thanks julibelle for sharing your story. Hopefully my son will heal quick and graduate on time too!
Vivian - my daughter did mention in her letter dated 3/19 that she had received my letters that day. Hope that helps some and I hope your daughter's DIV is receiving their's, as well!
Wyobraskamom - I'll be praying for your SR! That must be tough for you but hang in there.
Lala! Love the picture!! We are empty nesters now a little sad but kinda nice. When my husband and I got married we both had children so this is the first time ever we have been without. Really love the picture. My daughter has not mentioned if she has received any of our letters but I just keep sending them. Wonder when we'll start getting the calls :)
