julie:  Sure hope you stay on these PIR groups to help as a N4Moms veteran!  Thanks for your input to the ladies!

Good morning all!

Awe Suny, I am so sorry you missed a call but I am glad my ribbons put a smile back on your face. So glad you love them :-)

Comment by SUNY mom on May 8, 2012 at 9:37pm

My SR called this pm @ around 4:45pm NY time but I was in the office and didn't have my cellphone on - so I missed her call - ;(

Got home and got my ribbons in the mail from Lala - and here they are in my profile pic - thanks, Lala, for putting a smile on my face -

16 more days and I get to hug my youngest!  Yay!

HI Julie, so glad to see you back on here. Was PIR all you had hoped for? I bet you had a wonderful time with your Sailor.

QUESTION - For anyone who has sent their Recruit a check to pay for Photos....how exactly did you do it? Payable to them, so they could deposit it?

or

Blank with your signiture so they could make it out to the Photo Lab? If you did this...do you know if the Photo Lab accepted it? We are getting some conflicting info about payment such as:

They now CAN take the money out of the recruits paycheck (used to be able to do this but then it changed to a debit/visa card, check or cash {though they shouldn't have this much cash on hand at BC} ).

That the Photo Lab will not accept a check from anyone but the Recruit.

Thank you!

Wow - thanks Julie! Sounds like you all had a great time :) We are headed there on 5/24 and are leaving on Sun mid-day. Still waiting to see if my SR will ship out on Sat or be delayed due to the holiday w/e. He also might be switched to GL for A-school according to his recruiter. If either of those things happen, we might get him for part of Sat too!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on May 8, 2012 at 8:26am

yeah jenn, that is very cool. I bet you are double excited :-) Maybe your Sailor flying out will have a later flight and you can wait until you pick up your other Sailor to head to the airport and you can all hang out together. Send a post card to the one flying out in your next letter with a place for filling in the flight info. Such as: Airport, Airline, flight time, flight number, gate, layovers etc and your Sailor can fill it out and hand it to you at PIR so you will have all the correct information. This is a good idea for everyone who has a Sailor flying out. One poor mom a few months ago went to the wrong airport :(

Comment by diannep on May 8, 2012 at 7:56am

Wow, Jenn.  Hoping that the one in A School can go with you to the airport to visit with the one flying out!  Not sure how early liberty starts each day on GL A School base, but I have been told it is pretty early.  Maybe you can ask this on the GL A School group?  Your sailor will know for sure once moved over there right after PIR.

Good morning all!
