Lisa, I have heard several moms who sent a bandaid in with each letter. Don't send the ones with medication in them. Just a plain bandaid. And I would only send one or two in each letter so so they are not noticeable. Some RDC's are more strict than others and we never know what is allowed. It is very cool that they got sponsored that doesn't happen that often :-)
YAY for letters!!!
I got letters!!! My daughter loves it, and she is weapons leader. She sounded very proud of that.. Love my girl.. So proud of them all. She has made a really good friend too..
For those of you that my not this, the Training Center has 2 Facebook sites. I go to it daily just to see if they've posted a picture of my son. So far, nothing yet, but it's nice to see the pictures they do post. It helps to see what your SR may be doing. They also post graduation pictures.

I GOT A LETTER!!!!! Shes a section leader and has blisters. Oh something cool she says is that her div got sponsored by VFA-14 (the oldest squadron in the USA). they come and talk with them and gave them a flag to carry when they march. I cried thru the entire letter and have read it 20 times to make sure I havent missed anything. She seems very sad but it is only the first letter and Im sure she is doing better. You think it will be okay to send her bandaids in my next letter?
I received my letters yesturday! :) 17 of them! It was an amazing feeling to be able to read them and know what my fiance is up to. This is the longest we've been apart and its been tough, but those letters were just what I needed! He even said his division (Ship 2/Div 928) will be making their phone calls tomorrow! So stay by your phones all day! :) My family has also been thinking Days Inn as well, we need somewhere affordable and pet friendly and so far that has seemed like the best option.
I will be off the site until Sunday or Monday. Hope all have a wonderful weekend!
When I booked the Days Inn last night it came out to about $60 a night (booked 3 nights to get a 20% discount), but we don't need a suite or kitchenette since it will be just me and my fiance.
Good morning everyone, I hope more of those calls do come today. It does your heart good to hear their voice :-)
Not sure what it costs to stay at the Days Inn but the navy Lodge is I believe $67 a night and the kitchenette is the same price. Very comfy beds. We enjoyed our stay there. No shuttle but they will give you a pass to shop at the NEX just down the street from there. You normally have to have military ID to shop there and to stay at a Navy Lodge. When you call just tell them you are coming for graduation. They will reserve the room in your Sailors name and only ask that he/she stop by the front desk some time after PIR but they don't enforce that. I think everyone is so excited they forget about it lol.
I am so happy for you ladies that received phone calls. I am actually considering the Days Inn too Trix..
kelly: Sure hope your SR's ankle heals soon with the LLD rest it will get.
