diannep - I live in SC and my sister in law work for the Clerk of court so i'm hoping she can get it delayed for me. I don't mind serving since I have been unemployed since Sept it would be a nice change.

eileenz - I was with my daughter until she left the parking lot at MEPS. We were lucky because I see alot of parents don't even get to MEPS. The people were supper nice and pretty much lot us hang out anywhere we needed to.

Thanks Dianne, We parked in the parking garage and had to power walk to get to the boat on time. But, we went the wrong way and missed the boat so we went shopping at the NEX instead. My neck hurt all day and I felt like such a wuss lol. I can't turn my head to the right at all so I had to get everyone else to be my eyes when I was driving. My toe was feeling a little better once I was back and able to take my shoes off. But then, Loran and I went outside to take the puppy out and I bumped it again on the brick steps. OUCH lol. She just laughed and said I am accident prone. I am feeling the love around here for sure lol. Tomorrow promises to be a better day :-)

Lisa, isn't that crazy?? I had a jury summons on the day my son left...I had to say good-bye at 7:30 in the morning and then my husband took him later in the morning to the recruiting building. But, like you said, there would have been no way I would miss PIR

Comment by diannep on April 13, 2012 at 5:33pm

Wow, Lisa.  What luck!  Down here, we can re-schedule it ....once.  So hope you won't have a problem.  I just served about 3 weeks ago.

YAH for letters!

Take care of yourself, Lala.  That is awful....both most be so painful...hoping your cruise of the ships will get your mind off of it!

So happy you received a letter! And that your son is doing well. What an encouragment! Hopefully, we will all start getting letters soon!

I received a letter!!! And I can READ his writing!! :-) He said he has "hit it off" with the other recruits in the division....so this gives me GREAT comfort! I am bombarding heaven with "thank you!" prayers!!! What a wonderful day....I hope others have the same experience. Take care, all.

Well it's 4 o'clock on friday 13th.  another week down.  hope the instructors weren't to hard of our kids today.  have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on April 13, 2012 at 10:49am

Good morning everyone, I finally have a minute to log on and see how everyone is doing. We went to Colonial Williamsburg yesterday and walked all day. I must have slept wrong because this morning I have a lot of pain in my neck and can't turn my head to the right. Then I stubbed my toe and I'm pretty sure it's broken so putting on my tennis shoes was not much fun. Happy Friday the 13th lol. I hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend. Two more days with my Sailor and then I head back home to my hubby. Definitely bittersweet.
