Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please forgive me for not being on much lately. I am afraid I just have to be away for a while as I have pressing things here at home. I do read every day and try to answer where I can.

I am so thankful to be able to be a part of a team of ladies where I know we support each other while trying to support all of you who are going through this. I am thankful for the wonderful group creators who step up and take care of their PIR groups...and all of you moms/wives/Fiancés/GF/BF/Aunts/Uncles/Dads/Grandparents/Siblings and Friends who support each other on here. This site is dear to my heart.

Right now I will continue to read and post where I can, focus on helping to start the new PIR groups, answer any questions specifically directed at me and be available for any and all private messages. Those will be my priorities… I am hoping to be back in full swing soon.

My son received a care pkg from someone in TX when he was there....he had no clue who sent it (to this day). I think one of his "pen pals" from home ordered from TX/sent it to him because it was Christmas, not knowing he couldn't have care packages. He had to open it in front of the RDCs after convincing him he knew no one in TX and had no clue who sent it. They took the package....and later he saw them enjoying its goodies in their office! :-)

But at least I relax a little each morning once I have mailed a letter off to him :-) I heard an interesting tidbit the other day: the teller at the bank said her brother had been in bootcamp (probably at least 20 years ago) and she said they learned not to send him food because they had to eat it ALL right on the spot!!! No saving some for later! (Which explains why we are not allowed to send care packages!!) Have a good night, everyone....peaceful dreams.
