Great optimism Amber! I'm glad you got a letter from him yesterday, I'm sure it helped relieve some of the worries/frustrations. Let's hope we get that call today. Keep us updated!

I sure hope BS went well for all of the SR last night too!!

Good morning ladies!  Happy Friday!!!

It is such a relief to wake up this morning and for once NOT be worried like crazy about my Sailor.  I can now relax and just be a darn proud mama again!  :-)

Prayers and hope for a phone call today to anybody that hasn't heard from their Sailors yet.

Mom2TJ - I sent you a friend request.  I am from a small town in North Idaho also!  I am not sure if our travel schedules will jive but send me a message and maybe we can chat about carpooling.

Comment by diannep on June 29, 2012 at 8:05am

Oops, forget my post below, Mom2TJ.  Forgot you had 6 people.  Wouldn't be able to share a cab then.  I agree with Ellen...renting a van would be the way to go...sorry it is so pricey.

Comment by diannep on June 29, 2012 at 8:01am

Thinking that 209/210 went last night, so keep those phones close by this afternoon.  Calls can start as early as 2 pm GL time!

Mom2TJ.  If Sarge will be picking up anyone else at the airport that night, you can share his cab for cheaper.  Did you ask him about that?  I know you are coming in a little late so don't know how many will be arriving then, but be sure to ask him.

suzart:  When you meet your sailor at the airport, you get it at the airlines counter.  Not a problem.  Just make sure to have ID for all who need gate passes.

Comment by suzart37 on June 29, 2012 at 6:36am

Could someone tell me how to get the airport pass?

Comment by ellen0502 on June 29, 2012 at 2:54am

Mom2TJ, you shouldn't have any difficulty driving in especially since you are coming in later at night. If you have a smart phone use the navigation app on it, it will take you right to where you are going. If you are planning on going anywhere else that weekend it may be less expensive to rent a car.

Dana- where is that??? I called enterprise and cheepest car $40+/day that will squeeze in four. I need a van for 6 and that is $107/day!
Comment by Mom2TJ on June 28, 2012 at 10:43pm

I am from a very small Idaho town and have never driven in a "big city" so Im kinda scared to drive by myself at 10:30pm... but I dont have unlimited funds and even Sarges dicounted taxi is $75... that is pretty spendy...  so I was thinking it just may save money for me to rent a car..
