That is awesome Dana, Congrats to him and please thank him from us here on N4M's for his service. My Sailor missed 3rd class by less than 4/10ths of a point :-( She is totally bummed and she studied so long and hard. I am sure she will get it next time. She takes the test again in Sept.

Hang in there misskatie hopefully you will get that call or letter today. Who knows maybe both :-) I have my fingers crossed for ya.

That is awesome ladies :-) My daughter said she ate cereal as a desert for every meal at bootcamp lol. She gained 9 pounds during boot camp but it was all muscle. She didn't look any bigger at all. She is now back down to 103 lol. I wish I had her metabolism :-)

Me too! Phone call and letter what a wonderful day :)

Sound like all is going well so far. Actually thought he had gained about 10 pounds because he had so many food choices and the meals where good. And to think I was worried about him withering away.

Today a double bonus, my son called me for the first time
and when I came home there is a letter. Letters are wonderful, but voice is even better. Sounded good, misses his dog! Doing well, is on ship 09 Division 205

I know this may sound like a crazy request but It would be great if some of you would check this page daily and comment about news from your soon to be Sailors. We have moms on this group and others who are not comfortable on computers yet and for some of them this is their first experience with any social network. Lots of them don't have facebook and they come here for info. Many have never posted a comment and may never do so. but they do appreciate all the news you share and would love to get to know some of you. I think if there was more activity on the PIR group pages they may come out of hiding and share their news as well. You would be surprised at how many emails I have received from members who are out there looking for some encouragement and new friends.  Thanks so much for those who do post comments here. I know this site is how I survived the weeks my daughter was at boot camp and I still love and appreciate all the friends I made on Navy for Moms; it is near and dear to my heart <3

I panicked as well. no news is good news was not one of my favorite things to hear and I still kept thinking the worst. I don't think I had enough time to prepare for her leaving. One month after she first mentioned joining the military she was gone to boot camp. Way too fast for me. But then again a whole year probably wouldn't have been long enough either lol.
