For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by SailorMom_12 (Ship 03 DIV 208) on May 25, 2012 at 1:54pm: juliebelle - you mentioned that the RDC's confiscated you son's questionnaires. I downloaded some off this site and was going to send them to my son as something different than me just rambling on in letters to him.

Do you think we should NOT send questionnaires? Are they getting in trouble for having them and trying to send them back to us in mail?

Comment by misskatiebabie on May 25, 2012 at 1:00pm: juliebelle28- so maybe this upcoming week? sorry im just so anxious! the entire 4 1/2 months before he left for bootcamp we were never apart more than 24 hours so coming up on the end of week 2 and the start of week 3 and not hearing anything yet just makes my nerves a little jumpy. lol! i got his address on tuesday night and sent out 22 letters wednesday morning! ive been writing every day since he's been gone. when do you think my letters will get to him?

I'm feeling a little down! my boyfriend left on the 10th of may which would make this the closing of week two and the beginning of week 3. should i have gotten a letter by now? ive been in contact with his family and they said they havent received a letter either. should it be coming soon?

He and i get along fine, but the girlfriend does not fell Ex's should get along and be in the same room together. rrrggg -- My son wants his father their, and will be so heart broken if he does not go.

Comment by Dana (Proud Seabee Mom) on May 25, 2012 at 11:26am: I am needing to vent - my SR's father is SO frusterating - I just called him to give him the address, he told my son he was going to go grad, but wants his girlfriend to go - i have a feeling, he will not go unless she gets to go, I will not give him any info on how to do this, SR has been gone 3 weeks and he has not called me for any SR's info or how he was doing..
