When I received my son's letter I too was amazed at the "neatness" of his priniting....for years I tried to get him to print legibly...somehow the Navy was able to accomplish in a few short days what I tried over a number of years...:) a very PROUD mom says thanks
diannep I found I was even trying to use the NAVY PRINT in addressing my SR's letters. LOL. Yep -- all those hours nagging about getting the room clean would have been very useful!
NancyS: I always meant to ask my sailor what they told them to make them write so neatly! My guess is that they were told their letters would be thrown away and not mailed if they were not in Navy PRINT and neatly written. I too was stunned to see the neatly addressed envelopes from my son when he was at bootcamp. Even the letters themselves were neater than he usually writes.
I decided that if I had just had an RDC living with us when my sons were growing up, I could have had alot more "free time" to do other things rather than constantly monitoring that they did things the right way! :-)
Amazing what they accomplish with these SRs in such a short period of time!
NavyMom2Cole I didn't recognize my SR writing -- never been so neat! LOL It's weird, but I have the envelope on the kitchen table -- like a piece of of my SR is here. Today was rough -- don't know why -- emotions come and go. It's good to read the posts of moms who are seeing their SR at PIR and how happy the Sailors are.
FTLW- hope hubby is better and glad you have some "me" time!
Dear PIR groups,
Sorry I have been MIA…Hubby has been sick (bronchitis…he had it bad) and then we were getting new appliances…bookshelves (I am a bookaholic ) so LOTS of Chores!
I have some PM’s to get too…sorry for the delay…Hubby took the other “men” (our three sons” to a Guy night with Church buds so the testosterone levels have dropped and I can think now! LOL Hugs to everyone!
Got the form letter today! My heart skipped a beat seeing my SR's handwriting. OH I miss that boy!!!
Good morning diannep!
Good morning all!
Thank you Cor! Really a positive to see it officially. Helped get over not getting her form letter today. I cannot guarantee the mailman's safety if it doesn't come tomorrow! (just kidding of course, but it IS a good thing he delivers while I am at work)
