I booked online at the Navy Lodge yesterday after calling to talk to a staff member. They did not ask us the name of our SR either. I told them we were not military ourselves. I am glad we are able to stay there, it is only 1 1/2 miles from base. I am glad some others from our group will be staying there. It was a great price, we are paying 66.00 a night for our room, 2 queen beds.

 ellen0502 - I have reservations at the Navy Lodge. When I called there, I told him my son was graduating from Great Lakes. I didn't know to give my son's name at the time, and no one asked me. But, I believe the rate I received for 2 queen sized beds is discounted. It was $66/per night. Does that sound about right? Or do you think I need to call them back? Thanks!

Deanna, Diannep has information on the hotels. :)

I stayed at the Navy Lodge, which is very close.  Call them directly so you get the PIR discount, don't make an internet reservation . You put your reservation in your SRs name which isn't a problem. 

Most hotels in the area do have a Navy graduation discount so ask them when making your reservation.

Hey guys let us rookies know any advise to hotels- how are they? Location? Anything-- I was thinking of booking at quality inn because its so close- anyone staying there???????

Oh wow I cannot wait to get home to check the mail at 1:30! Lol even if the mail is there yet! I hope I get a letter today from my son in 268!

Hey Ladies,

We got our first letter from our SR today in the mail!!!!!  On cloud nine.  He says he is doing good, and making friends, and some pretty close ones.  Just thought I'd let you all know.  I know you're already waiting by the mailbox.  If there isn't one today, remember, I live in Michigan which is relatively close, so if you are further, maybe another day?
