Good Morning!!! Less than 2 weeks now, my son is sounding better in his letters all the time. :D
Good Morning Ladies!
Thanks so much OcoeeMom :-)
You are very welcome, OcoeeMom! Keep the faith!
Hey OcoeeMom
The NEX is like a little department store, kind of like a Sears, where they sell everything from Clothing and perfume, to Electronics and Lawn equipment. MWR stands for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation, that's the organization that organizes special events, travel and such for military.
I hope you get word from your son soon that all is well. We are in the home stretch now!
Have a blessed day!
Thanks so much, ProudIdahoNavyMom. Good to know that info. I will update my records!
I agree, NavyGirlzMom. Better to keep those things safe!
Diannep, I just typed this directly from the form letter received July 29, 2012 : Children 15 years old or younger must have one of the following forms of identification: School ID card, Driver's permit, copy of their birth certificate or Social Security card. All other visitors must present valid government-issued photo id such as driver's license, state id card or passport. Hope this helps :)
Kellie
Joanie/Lala: Ok, maybe that has changed since my son was there? Just checked my form letter from late 2009 and it says: "....all visitors over the age of 12 must have valid, government-issued photo identification (driver's license, passport, etc). Children under 12 must have a copy of their birth certificate or Social Security card."
Is that what your form letters say? Maybe they have revised it to those 16 and over? Please let me know what the form letter says so I know how to advise future groups.
Sorry if my info is old on that! I DO know that they accept school photo IDs.
A small flat rate Priority box works very well for the contacts. It is a good strong sturdy box and it's free other than $6.10 with delivery conformation so that you know what day it arrived to the base.
Under 16 don't have to have a photo ID but can use that to get in if they have one. They do need some form of ID, like the SS card, birth certificate, of school photo ID.
My 14 year old doesn't have a school id yet. They dont get them in this area till highschool and he doesn't start till next week.
