Jennifer and Seamonkey - I love Wednesdays the way you both love Thursdays.  I can't get out to the mailbox fast enough.  I find myself rereading the same letter about 5 or 6 times and then reading it again to anyone who will listen.

I know what you mean about TGIT. I love Thursdays I see how my SR is doing. This week was very short think he was getting ready for the start of hell week. Can't wait to see him in a few short weeks! Thanks to all of you for your post even if I can comment right away I try and read all of them!

seamonkey:  Hell Week just means they are up earlier, have lots of inspections, and are very busy.  The name is worse than it really is, like he said.  That is actually the turnaround week when they start getting much more positive about everything...they have "graduation" in their sights!  :-)

Also, the "Ricky Crud" hits most of the SRs when there.  My theory is still that it is connected with all of the shots they are hit with at once.  Good news is that they get over it and are allowed SIQ and LLD when they need it.

Joanie:  How great that your daughter signed up to be a bone marrow donor!  What a wonderful thing to do!

Comment by Joanie on July 26, 2012 at 7:51pm

Seamonkey90, my daughter signed up for that too and to be a bone marrow donor!  She has always been deathly scared of needles so I'm very proud of her.  I think doing things like that make them feel like a part of the outside world too :)

TGIT!!! My younger son and I both received a letter. Division 257 did get hit with the Boot Camp Crud. My son has flu like symptoms. Very tired. Also has morning ship watch which he has to be @ his post by 0530. Mentioned they got their 2nd hair cuts. Cost $6.25. His happy about a blood drive he signed up for because he'll get cookies (he has a sweet tooth). Mentioned hell week is coming. Was told by other div's, it's not that bad. Good luck to all our SR's. Pray they do well.

I'm still here too!  My internet has been down again.  I wish my area had more companies to choose from!  Anyway, hopefully all the sick ones are better soon. It's so hard for momma's not to worry.

Continued prayers for her, Lala....

Good Morning everyone. For everyone who has been praying for my Sailor thank you so much. I can't even begin to tell you how much we appreciate that. She seems to be feeling a little better but had to have a CAT scan yesterday. We will hopefully hear good news from that today and maybe by Monday she will be able to go from SIQ to LLD. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Thanks so so much, Lora (aka lala)

dukelvr:  Hell Week isn't as bad as the name sounds....it is -- up earlier each day for the sailors, lots of inspections, and a very busy week.  It is also the "turnaround" week for them...where they start feeling so much more positive about everything...you will see this in their letters and phone calls!
