LaLa,

I bet the SR's having dental work were glad to get some ZZZ's  Looking forward to my letter tomorrow, my SR had his teeth pulled on the 9th, am hoping he got some R&R, he's got the Crud too.

Diannep, AmOm, Joanie....  they did make it so they must give them a certain amount of sleep... but nothing says it has to be consecutive hours of sleep. Hence they get nothing but "naps"!

I am so glad to see some of you are getting calls and I hope those not getting enough sleep get some rest they need. I guess it has changed sine my daughter was there because then 10pm meant lights out, no studying or anything else. The only time they were up was during their designated time for ironing in the middle of the night for about an hour. Hopefully this won't last long and they will get caught up on some Zzzzzzzz's

Now you all know why after PIR, some of the new sailors just want to go to your room and sleep!  My son never mentioned being tired when he was there...and I would imagine it varies by SR and what they have to do, etc.  Hoping that all of the SRs gets some much-needed rest soon!

vicsmom:  Sure hope he feels better soon.  The "Ricky Crud" makes it rounds in bootcamp and most of them get sick at some point.  Hoping all are better soon!

Good morning all!

Got a call from my son earlier today, was so great to hear his voice. I miss him so much but this did make me feel better. He sounded good, just a little tired and said he had a cold. Was the best 10 min phone call I have ever received : )

Comment by AmOm on July 17, 2012 at 10:21pm
Joanie, that's horrible. I can't imagine how exhausting it must be.
Comment by Joanie on July 17, 2012 at 10:11pm

AmOm, my SR said the same thing the last time I talked to her.  She said they "say" they have 8 hours but they actually are just in their ships for 8 hours.  When they get there at 10pm then they have to do homework, study, folding, ironing so by the time that is done you may have 4 hours left, then they come in randomly to have them iron some more or just to fuss about something. So they do only get a few hours of sleep.

Still waiting on my call... :( Ship 14 Division 259.

This is what she told her friend. She said that she's only getting 2 hours and a lot of it has to do with her job. She said she is physically drained right now.
