If you have small kids at home here are some ideas :-)

I know it is hard on all the moms, wives, etc but it is also hard on the little kids. They miss their big brothers and sisters or Dads and Moms so much and they just don't understand it all. I know some families have made it easier for them by making some kind of craft to help them count down the days until PIR. Some have made paper chains like are used at Christmas and they tear off a link every day. Others have used a small jar filled with marbles or pennies. One mom even used a jar filled with quarters and once a week they would take the quarters they had pulled out of the jar and go get an ice cream cone :-) There are lots and lots of creative ways to make it easier for the little ones. You can also do a picture collage of what they are doing while bro/sis/dad/mom is at bootcamp like going to the pool, the dentist, shopping, playing with a family pet, a picnic etc and then scan it onto the back of a letter each week. My mind is spinning with ideas :-)

Ocoee- they usually have great deals flying in and out of Orlando. Have you checked with Allegiant Air? They fly in and out of Sanford Orlando. My sailor got a really good deal with them when she met us in FL a couple weeks ago. So check them out.

Jill:  Is there anyone else who your SR would have sent the form letter to?  They can only mail out one.  Be sure to ask your SR for the password because you will need that to print out your gate pass for PIR.  That was in the form letter, written in by your SR.

As far as the "make up" call, it is up to the RDCs.  Some allow that, some don't.  My son had watch once and missed the division calls, and he was allowed to call after his watch.

Oh, and she said that her division will probably be making phone calls on friday, so all moms in 253 and 254 have your phone's ready.  She said she probably won't be able to call though because she does have a dental appointment to get her wisdom teeth out.  Does anyone know if they get to make up this phone call or if it is just lost?  And she said a few in the division have gotten reward phone calls for having the shiniest boots... she didn't get that one... but congrats to those who did :-)

I totally concur with other moms here who have said getting those letters is like getting extra air to breathe :-)  I have been on cloud 9 since 1100.  It seems she has been writing a lot, but was unable to mail them until this week.  I'm thinking that if you did not receive a letter today, then probably tomorrow.  I still have not gotten the form letter (which had me worried a bit), I think it must be lost in mail heaven.  I still have a little lilt in my step and a smile on my face and a much lighter heart.

Jose'sMom:  There is a group on here called "Sailors Attending A School in Meridian Mississippi,:  You may want to join that and get some info on there!

He should have liberty on PIR Day for sure.  Left a comment on your page.

YEA!!!!! for you Jill.  I have thought about you everyday and hoped for you.  It really helped us to finally start getting letters.

OcoeeMom - Great on the Letter Congrats!

You can message each other privately (have to be friends on here first though) OR you acn use the "Send Mesage to Group" Feature.

It is up above the Group Members  Pictures. Just click it and follow the instructions.

This message will not go through the N4M's PM system but rather will go to the Group Members personal enmail. The Subject may start out with Navy for Mom's and then the Subject that you use for the message.

You are right about privacy...Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site as per the Community Guidelines and OPSEC. So, if it matches the "mom" it is the same as posting theirs.

I just saw an advertisement on TV for a Nationwide Sale at Southwest Airlines. They are running a special for one way flights for only $69.00. You have to book at Southwest.com and the promotion is called their "Nationwide Sale" they are book flights all over the country for that price. Check and see if an airport close enough to you flies Southwest. They don't have a charge for 2 checked bags and they don't charge a change fee if you have to change your tickets. You would only have to pay the difference in the cost of the flight. This is a great deal and they fly into more than one airport in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. Here is the link http://www.southwest.com/
