Hey OcoeeMom, my boyfriend is on the same ship and division as your son! I also haven't heard anything about moving to a different ship. I want to send out another letter, but I'm paranoid he wont get it. I still plan on writing it addressed to ship 7 though.

That's what my son is going to be YN, awesome. Anything words of wisdom your son can share is appreciated. I haven't heard from him to know if he gets liberty after graduation.

Jose'sMom:  My son was a YN (yeoman).  He has now been honorably discharged, but he loved that position.  He is "Mr Personality" so it fit him!  I know that AZs and LSs are also trained in Meridian.  Other rates probably too...can't remember!

So happy for all of you that received letters today, wont know til I get home from work if I did or not. But it brings me hope that I will be getting something this week! : )

Went to the mailbox and felt like I hit the mother lode!  3 letters!  I guess she is the AROC for the division.. so a lot of responsibility.  She hopes she can hold on to the position until graduation, so we'll see.  I guess they turn them over if they make a mistake.  She says she is really enjoying boot camp and sounded very upbeat.  They get IT'd a lot.. but she said the RDC's like to save it up so they do two hours at a time... yikes!  But she's in pretty good shape, so handling it well.  I think the Navy is exactly where she fits and I'm very proud of her and excited for her future.

I hope you guys get letters today :-) Wednesdays and Thursdays are always the best letter days.

Le85, congrats on your letters! I got my first letter from my daughter last Thursday. I carried it to work Friday and read it about 25 times! Sometimes to co-workers, other times just to myself. Sunday I got a call and when I heard her voice I got a big lump in my throat and struggled to not cry! When I got off the phone I felt exactly like you described, "light"! I was so happy the rest of the day because it was such a relief that she sounded so adjusted. No weeping or voice cracking like in the "Im here" call and in the voicemail she left when I missed her first call! Honestly, I knew I would miss her a lot just didnt anticipate it would be this much!

Good for you le85, hopefully we will all get one today. My mail doesn't come for another 4 hours. Thanks for the update.

Received first real letters today.  She was much more upbeat than I expected, she did keep saying how much she missed everyone and how important letters are.  She is in a performing division but she isn't playing, she is singing.  I'm so happy, she loves singing more than anything.  I feel so light right now, like a huge burden has been lifted.  Hope others get to have the same feeling today.

Blessings to all!

Jose's mom, my daughter is in same division but will be going to Pensacola for A school. No letters here either, nor for the other moms in our division. I'm thinking that either the other divisions got rewarded and got to write last weekend, or maybe ours got in trouble and weren't able to write...but anyhow, I'm sure they were able to write this past sunday and we should start getting those today or tomorrow. Or for us in north Idaho, in about a week when the pony express gets the ponies up here :-)
