Get away and have fun, seamonkey.  Hoping that you don't miss a call either...but we all need R&R to clear our heads sometimes!  Enjoy!

Thank you diannep and lala! Will look into placing an order.
Well, no letter today. Scared to go camping with no cell service this weekend. Hope I don't miss his call. I do need to get away though to clear my head. I am worrying way to much. Hope you all have a safe and great weekend.

Too funny, Jill.  I was at the other end of the spectrum...my son enlisted in another city about 90 minutes north of us.  I never met his recruiter, he didn't want me at the swearing in process, etc.  So....I guess when I said goodbye to him at the hotel the night before MEPS, he could have been heading on a Thelma and Louise type trek also...but I did get the I'm Here call late the next night.  From an 847 number...so I felt pretty secure that he was there!

Ugh!  Just heard on the evening news that it "feels like" 111 degrees in Chicago right now.  I feel sorry for those up there for PIR today...but I guess they are so excited to be with their sailors right now, they don't care how hot it is!  HOOYAH!

Comment by Jill (ATO Mom) on July 6, 2012 at 5:08pm

It reminds me of a story her recruiter told me when they joking about my 'over' involvement in the enlistment process.... he told us about a lady who came in asking for information on her daughter because she hadn't gotten any.  He asked what her ship date was and any other information, and she told him that her daughter had shipped out 3 years ago and she hadn't heard a word from her since.  I guess that was a daughter that wanted to get away from her mother... I'm positive that's not my daughter LOL.

I didn't get a personal letter but I got my DEERS enrollment form today :) This is very exciting for me since I have less than 2 weeks to cancel my benefits at work.

That is funny Jill :-) Keep hanging in there I am sure your letter will come soon.

Comment by Jill (ATO Mom) on July 6, 2012 at 4:23pm

Aw man... still no form letter and still no letter.  I'm pretty sure she did join the Navy and isn't on some cross country trek Thelma and Louise style... lol... trying to keep my sense of humor even though I haven't heard a peep.  Sure would like to get that form letter.  :-)

Seamonkey, I have only had 4 orders in two years that had that happen and I sent them new numbers and instructions on how to change them. I send the news numbers for free :-) You can also wait to place your order if you like or they are having a hard time. I can still get them to you on time if I have the order a week before you leave for PIR :-) I look forward to making them for you and your family.

Thanks Diannep :-)

I'm sorry I haven't been more active lately. We have been on vacation and tomorrow we head home so things will get back to normal and I will be on here a lot more often :-) Glad to be heading home!!! I know you all have missed me right? lol

Good morning all!

Comment by diannep on July 6, 2012 at 8:25am

seamonkey:  If your SR is asmoed, they move to a different PIR group.  So...if you are talking about ordering Lala's ribbons, then you can wait a little bit if you like.  You have time here!   She gets them out quickly.
