Jill:  Feel free to start a discussion group above for your division if there isn't one yet.  But stay on this main page too since we will be giving out lots of info here!

"Navy Writing", AmOm.  We all had the same "shock" when seeing the neat handwriting of our normally messy writing SRs!  I was sure that my son had not written it, when he was up at Bootcamp.  :-)

AmOm:  Hmmmm....unless that young man is in your SR's division or brother division, you won't be able to get an address from up there...but hopefully his family can give it to you!  I know he would love to hear from you...they LIVE for letters!

No, not necessary to put RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND or the ship name in the letter address.  The important part is the name of your sailor, ship/div #s.

For those of you all venturing over to a FB group, please be sure to stay on this group too.  Sometimes the FB groups don't get all of the info we pass along here.  So be sure to be checking back in with us, ok?

My SR's address on the form letter has RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND on the line between the ship and div and Great Lakes, IL. I didn't see this in the examples. Di we need to put it?

FTLW, I guess I should have read your next post. :)

By the way, callsforrecruits.org who does the free calling cards sends letters too and would like names.

So true, FTLW, they try to be so strong but they still need to have support and need to know someone cares.

The one and only young man who flew out with my daughter was "adopted" by several of us at the airport. Do you know how I can get his address? I have his home address so I'm going to send his parents some pictures it took but I told him I'd write.

Got my letter today! I thought it would hit me harder than it did. I thinks it's because it doesn't look like her writing (too neat ) and she didn't have a personak note. Sigh... I can't wait to get letters from her.

Anchor... same division, it's nice to meet someone in the same division.  It's going to be a great journey over the next 7 weeks.  Still waiting for the form letter, who knows, maybe she forgot our address, we just moved :-)

Jill V - My husband is in Ship 3 Div 254, which is the brother div to 253.

Thanks! Recruiter gave me 3415. My SR wrote 3405. And I already sent one letter last week.
