Yeah, just heard back from the recruiter... looks like ship 3, div 254. It's just so nice to finally know that she is assigned somewhere. And from the looks of it, it was one of the earlier divisions to be filled in this training group. I don't see a discussion group for 254 either alone or as a brother division. Should I start one or can we be added to the brother division? Yeah... My heart is happy now! :-)
seamonkey90...you may post the two addresses...just don't post your SR's name and we can help you figure it out!
Still no form letter... ugh... but I did call the recruiter and she is going to check into it and see if there is any information. She said that sometimes it takes longer to get females into a division because they have to wait for more females, etc. Hopefully she's not on p-hold for too long, I know that's not everyone's favorite time at boot camp. :-) I just wish I knew more details... this is killing me :-(
Yay! Received my form letter today. A little sad he didn't write any extra notes anywhere. I told him write a daily journal because he knows I like details. Let's hope he did that.
I did notice the street number is different from what his recruiter gave me. Trying to obey the OPSEC, is this something I can ask and verify?
That is... when you start getting real letters!
Oh...and write your SR's and ask them if there are any of their buds that are not getting mail that would like some.
Make sure that you have them give you their full name as you cannot just address it generically. Sometimes moms have also sent generic ("you can do it!") letters for their recruit to hand out...but I am not sure how well those go over with the RDC's and also I know you would love to personalize them.
Ask them if it is all right with the SR if you share their name with other moms from the Div/PIR group to write them as well and when you do...please do so through the Private messaging system on N4M's...remember no last names of Recruits/Sailors on the site (this includes your username...I can tell you how to change that if it is in there.)
I hear you on the adoption" thing!
Believe me you will "pick up some" along the way throughout their career! Some may be brief encounters and some lifelong.
Had several experiences over the years and with deployments for hubby. Now, my middle son wants to go in the Army and several of his friends are joining other branches. One in the Navy and it doesn;t sound like he is having his parents involved very much...so wanting to just stick my nose in! I am doing the best I can. This kid got a 95 on his ASVAB! Pretty much can "write his own ticket"...and he is 17! I'm working it folks! I have to get a hold of him because no matter how much they want to go...they all need support....he doesn't realize it yet.
Want him to get on NavyDEP.com with Craig. Though at 17 and no college etc or scouts I don't see him going in at an advanced rate. His ship date is Nov...wants to go NOW...but don't know when his BD is (even if you sign at 17...I believe you have to wait until you are actually 18 to go?).
Ha, HA diannep...TAG your it!
I just got my letter!!!!! I was starting to get worried that it got lost in the mail. My SR is on Ship 07, DIV 257. Look forward to seeing everyone on the 17th!!!!
