Haven't got the official letter yet, but I joined group anyway.  My son left on 6/20, so Im assuming this is his PIR date as well.   Hoping I will have the letter when I get home from work (crosses fingers) : )

I'm very happy for everyone getting their letters!  I haven't gotten mine yet, but the recruiter gave me all the info and all indications from all your posts about your SR arrival dates and PIR, I'm 99.9 % sure that my son is with everyone.  I just want that letter in my hand so I can feel better and make travel.  I did get my box today so that's at least good news... sigh... missing my kid :-(

We just received our Official RTC Letter a few moments ago and can I just say that I have a grin ear to ear! What a wonderful feeling it was to open the mailbox and see my beautiful boys handwriting...SR wrote quite a long note (top to bottom) that did wonders for my heart. He sounds GOOD!!!

My letter came!!!  Aug 17 is the grad date so I'm in the right spot.  It feels good to see it in writing.  Even got a short note on the back.  She is a tough kid - I'm so proud!

Good Morning, Dianne and ladies.

Another consideration, in addition to diannep's suggestion of SW, is to remember Priceline for rental cars.  (I definitely wouldn't do Priceline for flights, though because you are at the mercy of what they give you).  I usually do use them for rental cars and I have rented cars for as little as $11 a day. You can put in your own price and see if they accept it.  They have never turned down my prices.

You all remember to consider Southwest Airlines when booking flights since they have no change fee (in the event your SR's PIR date changes) and first two bags check for free.  They fly to Chicago-Midway and Milwaukee.  Milwaukee is less traffic and usually cheaper (not always).  Closer to GL too.

Good morning all!

...sorry, meant to put "leeanne!"  Didn't mean to misspell your name.

Comment by diannep on June 28, 2012 at 10:06pm

leanne:  Might be time to "personalize" your page.  Sooo...by that, I mean...see that silhouette pik above?  You can replace that with whatever pik you like!  So just search and find what you want, save it, and then add it!

I will add the BattleStations discussion above now.  That is their final test before they are sailors!

FTLW rest?  Really?  I think NOT!  That woman NEVER rests!  :-)

But...I hope you DO get some "down time" to relax and enjoy, FTLW!
