Wow Craig, I am so glad your son is okay and wasn't there. This is such a tragedy and no one should have to be grieving over the loss of a family member. It was such a waste of precious life. My thoughts and prayers are with all those involved and with our country.
Ladies, remember. If you want to trade names of SRs, please do so by private message. No last names of SRs/sailors are allowed on these pages. Having said that, I hope that some of you ladies who have SRs who are buddies meet up on here!
Craig - very scary - way too close for comfort.

Nursecat; Oh Man...well you are doing everything you can. If you have varification of his address....thats great!...write him and tell him to please write him a short letter to confirm the password and address and graduation date.
As far as my hotel...I will be staying at the Ramada Inn...4.5 miles away from the navel base. They have a free shuttle to the base. It was only $71. a night. My son is not a letter writer...so I am not expecting any letters...I could be pleasantly surprised though.:) I will see if I can change my flight to come in earlier on the 30th...and I think I will change to leave on Monday...since they will have Monday off too. What is your son's name? I will ask my son in my next letter to him...this is going to be a tough weekend...my son's 19th birthday is tomorrow! First year with no celebration:(....this is tougher than I thought it would be. Hang in there and again send your son a letter..ask him to call you with the information that would be faster. Have a positive Friday....Hugs
No letter again today....I keep writing! Big sigh.......
Craig, God was definetly with your son & his friend! Thankfully. We are from a small town in Ohio & I have gotten word that a boy my SR graduated high school with was there on vacation with his family & was hit with shrapnel & had surgery but will be fine. I am praying for all those families who lost loved ones in Colorado. I also hope the Air Force/Navy members did survive & am saying a special prayer for them & their families!
I think we lost two sailors....

Wow, Craig....on your knees praising God for His protection! Wow....I can imagine that your heart is still racing...so glad that your son/buddy are safe.
Did the Air Force/Navy members die? I sure hope not....such a senseless act, as you said...I join you in asking for the Lord's blessing for all involved in this....Colorado has sure been through it recently...with the fires....and now this....
Wow, what a day....
My son just flew out this morning after completing his leave. Last night he and a friend were going to go out to be the 1st ones to attend the premier of the The Dark Knight Rises movie. They wanted the 1st showing at midnight, but it was sold out. So they got the 3am showing. The theater which is 5 miles from my house is the one with today's shooting. Talking about freaking me out.... He actually came running up to my bedroom and told me to watch the tv immediately. Holy crap...
God was looking out for my family today....
Prayers to all victims of this senseless act, especially to the 2 Air Force and 1 Navy member from my base that were shot..... God bless them all....
Craig
No letter here either (ship 9/div 276....) tomorrow is another day.
sigh*
