so true FTLW :-)
Just got my first letter, too. Today is 2-1 for Div. 269 (and 270, too, I guess). :)
So glad letters came for those of you, hopefully, I will get one tomorrow.
You know...it's just "so wrong, it's right" when a smiley can choke you up.
I think that one below of the smiley running with mail from the mail box is one of my very favorites. Especially when it "hugs" the mailbox lol.
I'll post an EMOTICON Discussion soon...haven't for a while and I need to update it.
Mostly I just enter what I am looking for and see what pops up! That one was "lightning smileys". Zzzzzaaaapp!
Whoda thought that no windows would be a blessing!
So glad that the letters are coming now for this group. Means that they got to write on Sunday! Yah! Also means that they are receiving M-F mail delivery now.
momofccb: I loved getting my son's letters during bc. After all, who writes letters anymore? But what a gift! However, once bootcamp is over, so are the letters :-(....so enjoy skipping to that mailbox!
Wendymom: red armadillo, huh? I'm sure he isn't alone in that "look"!
Funny story about sending food. My son went to bootcamp in 2009 and was there for the Christmas holidays. "Someone" sent him a care package....something ordered from a vendor in TX (we live in FL---although he doesn't anymore!). We knew no one in TX. I think what happened is that one of his former teachers, who was writing to him, may have ordered it for him.
Anyway, when it arrived, he got "grilled". Who do you know in TX? No one. Did you know this was coming? No. Who sent it? Don't know. Finally, they concluded he knew nothing about it (he didn't and we never found out who sent it)...but they took it. It had "goodies' in it --- they had him open it. Later, he could see them in their office...eating the goodies! He got a good chuckle out of that.
So....please ladies, don't send any care packages of any kind and make sure those who are writing them know they can't send anything!
Hi. My son is div 271. Got my first letter yesterday! Boy how he has grown up in the last 2 weeks! It was a very intersting letter. he never writes so it was a joy! :)
FTLW - where do you find some of the smilies? The lightning-dodging one is cracking me up. I've seen some interesting ones before (probably best not on this site - lol), but that is funny.
60 mph winds are scary - I was happy for once that my office is an interior one - no windows :)
