~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Yep, the Lord always has perfect timing for each of us!! Is baby Eastyn here yet?
MontanaMom, when my daughter made her call on Saturday, 7/20, she also said that PT had just started the day before on the 19th. She arrived on 7/9, so your son must have been on P-hold till that next group got there. I didn't think to ask what number day she was on, I'm hoping to figure that out later. :) I'm so jonesing for some letters.
Last night after I went to bed I had a crying jag. I've been fine, haven't done too badly, but right then I missed her so much it felt like my chest would cave in. I guess I was due for a little breakdown. LOL. I was travelling last week and at the airport there were alot of army guys on leave, in their fatigues. My heart tugged every time I saw one. I went up to shake one of them's hand and thank them, and I nearly broke. My voice was all wobbly and I almost lost it, but managed to make it through a few words. They were all so young. And I kept thinking of my daughter coming home like that. :)
MontanaMom: I sure hope I have one too. My son is Ship 13 Div 333 also.
oregon mom and mindy
thank you ladies for the information! The price sure is right that is for sure! :)
@scoobydoo- you can call and make a reservation at Navy Lodge and they just put it under the recruits name and put all the other info under your info.. they know its for graduation and the recruit is not staying there.
@montanamom.. hope i get a letter soon! when my son called his GF he said the same thing, he arrived on the 4th also. he's in div 334 :) excited to get something from him since i didn't get a chance to talk to him when they made phone calls
We received our first real letter from our son today. He said he is beginning to think something is wrong with him because he enjoys being yelled at and doing push-ups. Says they haven't done anything that is that hard but that really the first day of BC was the 19th. Said he has been on P hold since he arrived the 4th. He sounded really good and his letters made me laugh.
Hello,
i have a question regarding staying at the Navy Lodge in GL, is it required that the recriut
A. book it.
B. be there in order for you to check in?
C. can the recruits family stay there w/out them?
SO EXCITING, Lala! Can't wait to hear "the news" and see the pictures. AND, by the way, your "early" trip up there???....your timing was perfect! :-) Blessings!
No, bchis: You will have a short time with your new sailor after PIR on RTC....then she will have to head over to A School with the others to move in. She will call you later to pick her up from that base (next to RTC). She cannot have her cell yet (she can return from Liberty with it) but she should be able to borrow one or use her phone card to call you. She will be able to use her own cell after that.
