~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you for your response diannep.  We will stay until Sunday.

TNmomof8 - glad to "see" another parent from Ship 13 Div 333.  :)

This place is going to save me from going insane, I think.

My wife is on Ship 12 in Div 331. I received my first phone call this past Saturday morning and my heart almost stopped. I wasn't expecting it all. I spent half the time sputtering and now just REALLY hoping that I get another shot at a conversation this weekend. Very proud of her and graduation can't possibly come soon enough.

Wyattsmom,

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Waukegan and really liked it.  They had a really good serve yourself breakfast--and biscuits & gravy, bacon, waffles, eggs, were part of the offerings!!  So it is not just a continental set up and it opens at 6:00 am to accommodate the PIR families!  We scheduled Sarge to pick us up at 6:30 am and we were at RTC by 6:45. There is also a McDonald's right next to this hotel.  The hotel also has an indoor pool.

NavyDad206--Thank you thank you Thank you!  I knew I read it someplace but couldn't remember where and I was trying to find it fast.  I called the guy and read it to him, he said he would wait until they get to "A" School.  I assume they can then received such things at that time.  I appreciate your help!  I don't want to have anyone do anything that would make his life miserable.  He is so enjoying it so far, I would like to keep it that way.  Thanks again.

MontanaMom: Here is the Family Guide that is on the main bootcamp site. It talks about care packages in the mail section.

Hope that helps!

Okay! So here is a stupid question that I know I have seen the answer to.  I ran into a gentlemen today that knows my son and wanted his address. After I gave it to him I told him not to send anything to him just a letter.  He informed me that they do this for all the recruits (ex-military himself) and always send a care package.  It has been bothering me all day since I talked to him and even asked my husband to give him a call. I'm quite sure we have been informed not to send anything to them.  Can you verify that I am correct or not. I know when my brother went through boot camp he said not to send stuff to him but that was years ago.

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. I am now in VA Beach on Baby Watch :) I came a little early so I could help mt Sailor finish getting the nursery ready. Good thing my work travels pretty easily. It looks like I have moved in here lol. They may need to build me a craft room lol, I was able to go out and get some pics of the Truman as it left :)
