~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The RTC has still not posted the division numbers for this group, but the next group is already receiving their form letters. Good assumption for this group right now is this TG is divisions 331-340 and 943, so 11 divisions each recruit should be allowed 4 guests.

This is just an assumption on my part seeing that people with SRs in division 341 had received letters confirming 09/13. Things can change though so...

Tammy: Let me tell you what helps me from worrying so much about this whole ordeal.

I am a very protective father as well as a veteran of the USAF.  I know what our kids are going through right now all too well.  Yes they are getting yelled at, worked until they think they can't any longer and then worked some more.  At some point in the next few weeks, our kids are going to "get it" and the instructors will lighten up because they've earned it.   They even get a sense of pride as they see newer sailors trying to learn things they already have, its quite an amazing feeling for them.

As I said being a protective dad, I know that each one of the instructors that will come in contact with her care just as much about my daughters safety and well-being as I do.  They care about their future as much as we do, probably more since they are now part of the same Fleet.

While I know its tough not to worry, know that our kids are in very capable hands and you'll be proud of not only your son but every one there for accomplishing such a major transformation is such a short time.

Until then, we're here to help you through it!

Welcome zachsmom!  Just remember, phone calls may not come in from your SR for alot of reasons.  Some may have "watch" when the division calls, some may have dental/medical appts or other business to tend to.  Some of them may have "lost" their call for doing something wrong.  There are all kinds of reasons.  Just keep that phone ready and "on you" for when the call does come in!

Should be this week that RTC posts the division numbers, Erica.
