~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Oh, and we had one mom who missed her SR's call because she was mowing the lawn and couldn't feel the phone vibrating in her bra!  :(

Oops - God bless! Thanks again everyone for the encouragement.

Thanks diannep! It's a new day and I am ready to face it. Dried up my tears after I wrote his letter last night. Tried my best to put a lot of humor in it sprinkled with my sarcasm which he will appreciate. I am so thankful he got to call even though I missed it. I saved his message but am not going to listen to it again for a while. I pray for him continually and am thankful to the very bottom of my heart for the wonderful people here who are supporting me and just explaining what is going on. Good bless!

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday :)

MountainMom, so glad you got to speak to him for a couple min and it is great he is doing well. NavyGirlsMom it is so sad to miss a call but the good thing is that since others are also getting calls at least you know it was most likely a good call and I bet she is doing very well. There is a chance that she may get to make up the call so keep your phone close :) When we went to movies I would put my phone on vibrate and stick it under my bra strap. Then I could see who was calling and either ignore them or answer and walk out of the theater. I hope she gets to call again soon.

PrdNavyMom, thanks so much. It is so good to see you back here again. It amazes me how many people we have who return to our groups with yet another soon to be Sailor :) So glad you loved your ribbons and I will be happy to make them for your family again :) I have made some changes and improved them so I can't wait for you to check them out :)

Ladies, just a reminder to keep those phones with you when you go out to get the mail and are in the bathroom too.  Calls have been missed in the past during these times!

NavyGirlsMom:  So very sorry....during Bootcamp, the phone has to be attached to you....frustrating at times, I know.  Next time you go to the movies, make sure the phone is on vibrate and put it in your bra!  That works for many people.  I'm glad you got to hear her messages....sorry she is sick, but most of them get sick there.  Maybe a combination of their immune systems being temporarily compromised with all of the vaccinations they receive at one time upon arrival at Bootcamp....and close quarters with so many germs.  The RDCs are good about giving them light duty for a while....hoping she feels better soon....and that another call will come for you soon!

MontanaMom:  So glad that you finally received your call and he got to talk to others too!

Good Morning All!

We missed our daughters call tonight.  I have had my phone with me day and night just in case she called... We went to a movie this afternoon and I put my phone on silent and out of habit put it in my purse.  She called 20 min before the movie ended. She tried me several times, my husband and son, who were also with me at the movie, both had missed calls from her.  She did leave a couple brief messages, It was good to hear her voice, but she sounded like she may have a cold.  So disappointing.  She did say she was doing good and when she calls again it will be on the weekends.  I'm disappointed that I didn't get to talk to her but my heart breaks for her thinking about her trying to call and no one answering.

Did anyone from Ship 12 Div 331 receive a call today to know how the group is doing and if they were told when they might be able to call again?

We almost missed our sons call today.  We decided to take a road trip to the corvette rally, left our younger boys with my mom. He couldn't get ahold of us either on  the home phone our my husbands cell so he called his grandmother and talked to her and both of his little brothers.  Had a little time left and managed to get a hold of us while we passed through cell service.  By this time I didn't have much time to talk to him, he of course is a man of few words anyway.  I only had time to as him how things were going and if it were everything he expected.  His exact words were "this is FUN"! I later spoke to our younger son who talked to him too; he was also told it was fun. So I guess my worries are put to rest. Everyone is full of smiles and so happy to hear the he is off to a good beginning!
