Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Just got form letter! The address was different than the one my daughter sent me, glad I waited. It gave PIR date of 9-6, she had written 9-13.

Ladies:  Once RTC posts the divisions in this group, probably early next week, ellen will open the division discussions which will then appear at the top of this page.  You will then be able to join your division/brother division discussion and meet others who have SRs with yours!  So....just be patient!  :-)

yeah- hi everyone- glad I found the site that has people going thru the same thing and the same time.... my son is ship13 div 334, and I can hardly wait for 09/06-

having a hard time picking who gets to go- since they allow only 4- but I know it will all work out...Have a great Friday !!!!

Ladies,

When your SRs finally get to call very soon, the area code will most likely show "847", but it could be any other area code so pick up all calls and if it is a solicitor, just tell them politely, "no, thank you."  Keep your cell phones near you and fully charged at all times, take it outside with you, upstairs, in the basement.  If your SR calls the home phone, have calls forwarded to your cell when you are out and about!!  If you are going to some place somewhat loud, put your phone on vibrate and then in your pocket or bra to be sure not to miss the call~~

Hi Katie D- My son is on ship 3 div. 338 too.  I see several moms from that ship and div are on Navy for Moms site.  That's awesome. When my daughter went in the Navy a couple of years ago, I was on this site all the time, it really helped, a lot.  But, there was not too many moms from her ship and div. in the group.  This is great.

Anyone else Ship 12 Division 331? Seen lots of others but none for ship 12, division 331. Where from Shiloh, IL....excited to be making that trip up North for graduation!
