~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

ok, sounds good. Thank you Mindy!
my sons guest list said MOM & DAD, so i don't think it's an issue :)
Thank you for the information CatMom509. I would rather have someone stay at the hotel than to try to gain access and get my SR in trouble. One more question, he misspelled a name on the list of guests, is that an issue?
Friends,
Also want to let you know that you can put your SR's cell phone on Military Suspension for the 2 months that he/she wiil be in Boot Camp. Just contact your cell phone carrier after your SR has made his/her "I'm Here" call and the phone is on its way back to you in The Box or any time after you get it back. You can do this for free and it will save on the monthly charges on that phone. You can re-activate it for the day before PIR. I was able to easily re-activate my daughter's cell phone online at Verizon Wireless.
Hi Nola, my son is ship 3 div. 338 too.
My son is ship 3 div 338.
Tammy,
It used to be that you were able to have extra members of your family put on another Sailor's PIR access list, but this changed in January of this year where that is no longer allowed. There are serious consequences for all family members involved and perhaps the Sailors too. Extra family and friends can now watch the PIR livestreaming online from a laptop in your hotel room and can then meet and spend time with the Sailor when he shows up at the hotel after PIR.
We already booked reservations, we are staying at SpringHill Suites Waukegan/Gurnee, it looks like a very nice place. We are also going to Sarge's Meet and Greet at Sundance Saloon.
my son is ship 3 div 338. I have a question regarding the guests allowed in. Our recruited keeps telling us that my son can negotiate with others in his division to get one more of our family into PIR, but everything I read says this is not possible. Can someone please clarify for me?
Lynnie25 my son is 03 div338
